Hello, we have an IGT slot, not sure what model it is but i attached a pic. Its been working fine the last year, but now all the sudden the attendant light at the top started blinking and the reels started spinning by them selves. so i opened it up and rechecked everything. i used the jackpot key to reset it but now it just sits blinking.. does anyone know if there is some sort of overall reset that can be done?? any help would be great!

Join new life games forum. You may need to get a clear chip? But they can help diagnose.

When you turn it off for 5 minutes, then turn it on - do the reels spin like normal to their stopping point?

Does a code pop up on the LED readout - like 12, or 21, or 61, or something?

Do coins just drop right through?

Do the reels look like they're spinning slower than usual?

Did someone try to cash out more than what was in the hopper?

The answers will help us diagnose your problem...

Modessitt had some good questions. When you power it up the code # in the Winner Paid display will give a much clearer indication of the issue.

The forums at newlifegames.net are great also. I've learned a ton about working on the IGT Slots over there.

unfortunately the LCD has never lit up. Wish it did because your right, it would help me a lot. Its not a coin machine, its a ticket machine, so no hopper issues. When i open the door then close it the reels seems to spin back at normal speed. no jackpots were hit, and no one tried to cash out. We had put more cash in for credits, and then removed the cash like normal and it started doing this. Still shows credits on the screen, but the service light at the top is just blinking and it isn't responding to buttons. Ive opened it up and gone thru most of what i would think would be the issue. Pulled the reels, bill validator, and all to make sure they were seated properly but still get nothing.

What would it normally do if you hit "cash out"? Would it print a ticket? Could you have accidently hit the cash out button and it's stuck because you're out of printer paper?

Sorry for stating the obvious but since the last thing you did was remove cash, pay close attention to checking the cash box and make sure the sensors that tell the machine that everything is closed are working properly. I remember I used to have a cash door on an IGT and I always had to slam it closed every time to make sure it was seated properly.

As has been mentioned newlifegames will probably have the right answer for you in minutes

IGT trouble

The candle will help tell the tale. If you are not getting an error code in the credits or paid digits then the candle may the tell. You need to watch the candle and see if the top or bottom of the candle is blinking and at what rate. There is a chart at new life that wil lhelp tell you what the issue is. If the reels spin when you shut the door then I doubt that it is an open door code. Although if you have a validator which it looks like you do the can should have a switch on that as well, that may be where to look as you were taking money out. If I remeber they may be optical, you may simply have to clean them.
