Hi, my name is Chuck and this is my first post.

I have collected and restored classic home video game consoles, but have recently become more interested in pinball machines.

I picked up a Gorgar pin and wonder if you all would mind pondering the issues below and offering your sage advice.

The machine turns on and plays. It needs all of the obvious stuff: rubber, cleaning, etc. The playfield is in surprisingly good shape.

1. One of the jet bumpers is non-functional. Tracing it back to the driver board, I found that the wire had been disconnected (pulled from the connector by a previous owner). I put it back in and the coil immediately locked on. I suspect a bad transistor, but could use some advice on the best way to troubleshoot. Same problem with credit kicker coil - its wire has been pulled from driver board, only this coil is burned up and will need to be replaced.

2. On the credit, ball in play, player 1 and player 2 displays, the lower right segment of EVERY number is stuck on. Player 3 and 4 displays are fine. I tried swapping displays and the problem is always on players 1 and 2. The main display board has been heavily worked on - looks like a new display was soldered in. Some of the traces look to have been "repaired". Any obvious fix here, or am I looking at a new board? How hard is it to get one of these display boards?

There are a few other little things, but I'll leave it at that for now. Thanks.

Chuck

yes you have a bad resistor and maybe the pre one to, you can test these with a volt meter.as for your display board same thing maybe.test them frist and if there good then its a chip.you may find chips but a lot of them are no longer available.rotten dog sells board and displays there very nice.look here for your testing help. http://www.marvin3m.com/fix.htm
