Help. I was wondering if someone could provide some guidance on wiring up a G07 monitor with a newly purchase (Bob Roberts) Jamma harness. There are existing wires running to a connector, but I want to use only the new wires and no connector (other than the new white plastic ones that came with harness). The new harness has red, green, blue, black, and white wires in the video bundle.

This is going to be run on a JROK and I created the bundles per the instructions on Bob Robert's site.

The existing harness has 6 wires going to the video connectors. I don't know if I trust these so I would rather know what new wires to connect to which pins on the board.

For sake of clarification (in case photo isn't clear) there are two connectors. A 3 pin connector and a 6 pin connector (currently with 4 wires connected). So currently there are 6 wires, my bundle has only 5.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Thanks Ken.
There are two G07 hook ups shown, one with all 6 wires to the one connector and one with 4 & 2. Which one with a JROK? And with only 5 wires which configuration would I use?

Thanks

the go7 requires two inputs for composite sync, you have to modify your sync wire to make it have two leads to connect just like your picture you posted.

Thanks, that's the way I was leaning but I didn't want to screw anything up. I will give it a try.

One more question: do I split the ground as well? It appears the existing connectors have a ground to both the 6 pin ( with RGB) and a ground to the two white (sync) wires going to the 4 pin connector (3 pins on the board).

Edit, After further review (using the provided link) it looks like I need only 6 wires. Ie, do not split ground.

Thanks

Ok, I guess I need more help.
I have the white wire split and attached to 2 of the 3 pin connector (left 2 pins but I also tried right 2 pins with similar results).
I have the RGB & black to the 6 pin connector on the right 4 ins (which is where the previous harness was connected). Wired right to left as R G B BLK with two empty pins next to it.
The monitor was working with a previous game...

I believe it's a sync issue but not sure how/why.

First make sure it's hooked up like this

Sync Sync Empty

Empty Empty Ground Blue Green Red

If so, then adjust your H-Freq ...

Yes, that's how its wired.
Ok, I'm close. I found it out of trial and error.
I am not sure what the start up screen should look like but it appears that I am missing some colors and it is slightly off center.
Anybody know, is there another adjustment to remedy this?
Also if someone can point me to the right adjustment knobs, for this monitor (I have 4 little adjustment "pots"? On the bottom, the right most which seems to have fixed the h freq issue)
Thanks again everybody!

Now if I just had my MW control panel....

Color pots are on the neckboard. Position shift jumpers are to the left of the flyback...

i know I'm resurrecting a somewhat old thread, but I'm in the middle of this process right now with the arcadeSD board.

I have one sync wire and the g07 wants 2. is what you're saying to do is, take the one wire, then make a little arc over to the next pin with a small bit of wire so both pins are connected to sync even though its only really one wire?

great. I ended up doing a Y-split cause that seemed easier than trying to cram a small wire in there. but I haven't plugged it in yet so if that was the wrong way to go I haven't irreperably harmed anything.

Hi all,

Sorry to revive this ancient dead thread, but the information addressed my problem directly earlier today, however I am struggling to get that last mile accomplished. I am a super noob, and so still learning so much about all of this:

Context: I, like others in this thread had incorrectly wired the connection from the board to the chassis. After reading here I rewired the connection in the order Modessitt suggested on 2/19/13 and started to see progress, I managed to get the first garbled image to this point, but have struggled to make improvements beyond this point.

It was suggested to me that a good next step would be a cap kit, and replacing the vertical hold potentiometer. I used the potentiometers on the chassis and the neck board to get things to this point, but I get the sense this is as much as they are able to do currently.

Any advice?

Those 2 pics look like the h freq pot needs adjusting, and the v hold pot as well.

Potentially a silly question, but whereabouts is the h freq pot? I know the vertical one is on the bottom of the chassis as I have been using this guide on the inside of the frame, but don't see one for horizontal. Many thanks for your help

The far left of the 4 pots is the Vertical Hold pot, the far Right of the 4 pots is the Horizontal frequency pot.

Oh my god please ignore me, the monitor is a WG K4900 - somehow this thread still helped me get it to this point, but realizing now that what I'm working with is definitely not the G07 :dunno:

That said, I think I've figured out how to do the equivalent of what you're suggesting on the K4900, so I'll give that a try tomorrow and see what happens provided I don't first walk directly into the ocean.
