I just got a super nice condition FP. Set it up, played hard right away. After a few hours, game suddenly would not eject next ball. Shut-off, turned on, game then would not start once credits were in. After doing a little research, I learned about the trough switches being problematic on this machine. When I did the switch test, 51 came up right away. That's one of the three. After fiddling with the switches, I got the machine to work again. Then it happened again. Turned off for a while, turned on, it works again.

I believe it is normal that this problem be intermittent.

I'm new to pins, been a vid-head up to now, but I'm comfortable with messing about with basic stuff.

So, that all said, is this a simple matter of replacing all three leaf switches? If so, can someone point me to a source?

At one time Williams issued a service bulletin about this problem. They issued a whole new trough assembly with microswitches which corrected the problem.

Otherwise, you've got to make sure those leaf switches are absolutely clean.

Nope. If I recall the bulletin correctly, Williams stated these would have been available for a short time only and only for those who contacted the factory for one. I believe Williams only manufactured a limited number of the assemblies.
