Help with my Bram Stoker's Dracula?

1. I have a broken left slingshot plastic. Anyone have just the left one for sale? Or a set?

2. There seems to be an issue with one or more of the ball trough switches or with the horizontal kicker (is there a term for this?) that sits in the bottom of the trough and kicks balls to the right end where the autoplunger is. The kicker kicks the ball to the right OK, but instead of springing back into place rapidly it very, very slowly returns to position. How do I check this function, and how do I get into the ball trough area once I have pulled the lockbar off and taken out the playfield glass?

3. The upper/top end of the Castle has a broken post so it's kind of floating free on that end and may be interfering with ball travel in that area. Where can I get replacement mounting post parts for that?

Thanks,

RussM

2. To get to the ball trough, you just need to remove the apron. There are normally a couple screws holding the apron onto the playfield hangers. Then you just slide the apron forward towards the top of the playfield and then it comes right off.

They call that shooter lane kicker a ball shooter lane feeder, or probably a couple other names too :) Your coil sleeve could be really dirty or something in the assembly could be loose or missing. Spring could be missing or the wrong one or just old..

So remove or loosen the four screws on the front of the apron that go though the chrome wire loops and the apron slides up and out?

I'll take a look at the coil sleeve, spring, etc. and do some assessment.

Thanks,

RM

Take a look at how the apron mounts...it's really simple trust me :) If you look inside you can see where 2 little tabs slide into slots. You can also see which bolts hold it on...

On my fishtales for instance, there are only 2 screws holding the apron onto the curved playfield hangers. Then you just slide the apron towards the flippers a bit..then lift it out..

Mine had the exact same issue where it would not return to position after kicking a ball into the shooter lane. Mine was gumminess in the armiture assembly. Took it apart, cleaned it w/ some degreaser and alcohol and been fine for months.

OK, score one for treborlicec and The RussMan - that was exactly it.

Took the apron off and disassembled the ball kicker mechanism, including the solenoid sleeve. It was all filled with black gunk - probably a soda or beer spill in that area. Cleaned and degreased all parts and re-assembled - now it works smooth as silk.

SNAPPY !!

Thanks !!!

On to the next ten problems...
