I am having a problem with an Asteroids Deluxe machine that I just tried getting going today. I put in a monitor that I recently got back from repair, I used a board that was recently repaired, and I used a known good power supply. The game comes right up when you turn it on, and you can add your credits. When a game is over and you don't start another one right away, within a few seconds there is a beep, the video disappears and there is a hissing noise (like the sound of a tape when it is over), and the coin counter will click once or a few times. You then have to turn the game off and then back on, and the video comes right back on. Any ideas?

Make sure the roms on the pcb are seated well. The sockets they used dont hold them very tight and moving the board around(shipping) will cause them to pop up out of the socket a little.

Those sockets are crap, they contact the thin sides of the chips legs instead of the wide sides. Doesnt take much for one to loose contact. The coin counter flipping randomly is usually a good sign that the eproms need to be reseatted.
