Hey again!

Sorry to hammer you with posts:)

Well, what is the thing I would attach to a powered screwdriver/drilling machine
and use to polish with, called?

Like a shaft I put into it, and a plate in the other end for attachment of the polishing
cloth?

Thanks:)

Does anyone know where you can purchase the kit online at a cheaper price?

The arbor bit and pads aren't anything special. But the compound they supply with the kit is. Support the hobby and buy one of their kits. If you can't afford $70 then you're diffidently in the wrong hobby. This kit will allow you many many many PF cleanings in the future.

I bought the kit awhile back but one of my arbors broke. The small one. I tried to purchase just the arbor from them but they said that the arbor is only available in a kit.

Anyone know where to get the arbors?

Finally purchased this kit. Will update with results.

I agree though, if you are in this hobby $90 is not that big of an investment.

I feel like I am taking a little bit of a beating here. Yes 90 bucks isnt a huge deal but why should I spend more then I need to on something? Thats like you guys saying we should only buy our pinballs from sites like pinrescue.com and pay $4000 for a old Gottlieb. Otherwise we really arent supporting the hobboy or the comunity right? I am one of those guys who is into both the pinballs and arcade games and know alot of the arcade guys and a decent amount of the pin guys want to pay shit for there games. So why am I going to pay shit for it but way over spend on something for it when I can find it cheaper.

BTW I was able to find the kit on amazon minus the polish for like $17.00. So yeah whats better for me $17 or $60?

Just my two cents.

gah

got a link to share?

I figured it was a worth while investment because I can use it on multiple machines and increase the quality of them. Especially if I am going to be selling some I want them to sparkle.

Don;t feel bad. The compound TC's kit comes with is magical how it removes ground in shit as well as ball swirl marks. But as Jar said earlier, Novus works wonders but for tables that are maintained. The nasty bastards completely benefit from TC's compounds.

I am looking to make my mylar worthy of being kept on the machine.

With the BOP, I am scared the paint will come right off the inserts if I pull the mylar and be a pain to restore.

First step I guess.

I agree. I'm restoring these machines as a hobby, and I get told all the time "order this,
order that, it's only 30 bucks" etc. My problem is, it's 30 bucks x a million things.
For example, why should I buy a new light strip for my xenon, if I already have
one + LED's lying around? And it isn't just the strip, it's everything. If I did that, it
would cost me 5000 dollars to get a machine up and running. Then I could just order
a new one instead.

So, yeah, I can keep just buying things at 30 bucks, but I'd rather try to keep the
expenses down/use the original items in the machine.

It has nothing to do with being cheap...but I can buy the next machine if I don't
use the "it's only 30 bucks, if you won't use that, you're in the wrong hobby" - codec
for the money saved.

Trying to fix and clean these machines is a great hobby for me. I love it(mostly), and
it's a awesome way to get away from chemistry for me.

I hear you guys.

After seeing I could get bits of it on amazon for free I feel a bit bummed.

And I have spent insane amounts of money to get my machines up to where I want them. I added up all my pinballlife orders and saw that I could of bought another machine easily for what I have spent.

I see this as a hobby, and hobbies are usually pretty expensive.

I also see this as a killer way to bring me joy and I love having my pins in really good shape mechanically and physically.

I also see this as sort of a lifestyle. I have great parties where people get to enjoy all the work I have done to get these machines running well. I get to just stand in my arcade and grin like a mofo. I have no qualms about the money I have spent on getting these machines rocking and the TC kit will help it be even better.

I agree the TC might be a bit of a ripoff, but just a few 6 packs of great beer more. I will still use the crap out of it.

Heck if we were all a bunch of frugal folks we would not be on this forum.

Happy new year.

I feel the same way:)

But if 90 bucks is not a big deal, then 200 bucks is more of a deal, but not crazy more.
There's a guy on the forum trying to fix his MPU right now. So I could just answer him,
get a Ultimate MPU, it's only 200USD.

I just ordered the Ultimate MPU by the way, I had to give up on the corrosion. Spent like
15 hours on it first. Lol. I got it yesterday, and it IS nice to have a NEW pcb with
sockets for everything:)

So you have parties where people play the machines? I never do that:(
