hi all,i have a mace dark age cabinet, but whenever i try to turn it on,nothing appears on screen, nor audio can be heard.i checked the board, and the leds together with the reference manual, and it appears that 3 leds that are near the processor, that are suppsoed to be turned on just for few seconds, than going off or blinking(according to the manual),are on,and again, according to the manual,it means they're in "processor reset" state, which i don't know what it means, nor the manual says what to do in case.any help?

my best inclination is for you to check the power supply. using a digital multimeter set to 20V DC, you check the +5 voltage. +5 is required to run games.

if you don't know how to do any of this or lack the tools to do it, don't power the game on anymore.

give me some more details about the cabinet it's in and what kind of power supply it has. you're gonna have to know all of these things with this hobby. :)

was the game purchased in a known working condition?

this is the problem,i trusted the owner of teh arcade who said it was working because he was a friend of mine, but i don't know at this point.is based on a seattle atari hardware, the power supply is a standard PC one,the one syou find inside Pc etc.i treied checking the multimeter on the monitor, and apparently there's power runningthrough from the power supply to the monitor, but still no images or anything.somneone told me to turn the knob on the power supply to -5v,but that doesn't even turn on the main board.tell whjere do i have to check the voltage on the power supply

I don't know where to start here. lol

PC power supplies are no good for arcade machines. you can't adjust the +5 on them, and they run a much higher amperage than an arcade PSU.

you may have gotten hosed on this one, do you have another switching PSU that you can swap in, or another JAMMA cab (doesn't even matter if the monitor's medium res or not, you might even be able to change a dipswitch to run standard) just to see if the board got nuked or not.

verify that and get a legit PSU, then we'll try again.

And monitor power and game board power are two TOTALLY different things.
You may have power for the monitor (typically 120v AC) but not proper game pcb voltages (-5, +5, +12, etc)

Besides.... a friend should be willing to come over and help you out if they said it was working. ;)

well yeah i should have said "friend",as he really is not that much foa friend, just someone i know that could've passed me the cab for a good price.yes i do have another power supply from another pc,i can use that one if its ok.what if in this case the powr is not enough for both of them?anyway i'll make a video about it later and post it on youtube.by the way, some people suggested me to use a multimeter and check the power supply..except i don't know where to put the poles of the multimeter on the power supply..

here it is

ok here's the rundown:whenever i turn the cabint on,i can't hear the hd spinning, though the green light on the back is lit.so i disconnected it from the ide cable (or whatever that wihte\grey-ish cable is called)from the board..and lo and behold..it spins!i basically left only the power supply cable on,and the hd spins and i can hear the cylinders etc.whenever i plug it back to the motherboard,it suddenly stops spinning and working.so i substituted the ide cable with a new one..same problem.its like there's something that "inhibits" the hd from working once its plugged on the main board.what can it be?

What is the jumper setting on the hard drive? It should be set to master.

The main board could be bad. Voltages might be off.

Do you get anything on the monitor when powering up or down or is it completely black?

This ain't one of them deals where the IDE cable is plugged in backwards or something is it ?
(as far as the hard drive spinning up, doesn't mean anything for the monitor yet)
