So we picked up this cab that runs blind, and honestly monitor repair is really the only thing I do not understand one bit. I've been trying my damndest to learn this stuff (and I still am!) but I have to throw in the towel and get some outside opinions on my particular problem.

We managed to identify that the chassis is a Kortek KTA-915. I can confirm that the fuse on the chassis is blown, and there's no orange glow in the neck board. At that point, I have no idea where to go. I have a hunch the flyback isn't working, but I'm not really sure where to find a replacement for this particular chassis, nor do I know how to test it properly.

Should I just pull the monitor and invest into a G07? This particular machine is going to be a Ms. Pac Man, for the record. OR, should I put the effort into fixing this monitor, and if so, where do I go from here? Thanks in advance.

With a harder-to-find-info-on monitor like the KTA-915, it's hard to determine whether it should be an attempted fix or not. You could spend a lot of time and some money and still not have it fixed.

Then again, sometimes fuses do blow for no other reason than you turned it on after a long time being off. If the flyback didn't look damaged (cracks or ooze coming out), I'd probably test the HOT and VR, some rectifying diodes, then cap it, replace the fuse, and cross my fingers.

But if you have another monitor handy - like the G07 - then you can always swap it in. It's easier to get parts, documentation, and help if you have problems with it...

I'd appreciate a photo of the chassis. I have this oddball Kortek that I cannot find any info on.
