So I picked this DK Jr./Playchoice 10 yesterday off of masco73. It is going to need a lot of work, and I have seen people mention Nintendo offset t-molding. As far as I can tell the t-molding on this cabinet is not offset.

Can you please make recommendations on where I should buy replacement molding?

Looks offset to me too Tighe...AFAIK, the offset isn't extremely offset, but enough that if you install normal t-molding, it will have a noticeable 1/16" gap of wood exposed. Someone else with exact measurements would probably be better to ask, but again....def looks like your channel is offset.

yeah its really slim

Audiomidiman has your Tmolding. He just bumped his thread. It's like $25 to do a whole cab in new molding, and it's the correct offset stuff. Get it while it's still available.

Thanks Phet! The cabinet is plywood. So where do I get the right t-molding?

Bill also has the true flat stuff, which is pretty much exact. You can also get the slightly rounded 9/16" white molding directly from T-molding.com. That used to be the only option before Bill made his true flat run. I have used the Tmolding.com stuff on all of my Nintendo restorations up to this point. I now use the true flat to support Bill's efforts.

And really, if you are worried about which molding to get, just measure each side of the wood of your cab edge to the center of the slot. I thought you carried around micrometers with you?

I'm shocked that any Nintendo cab owner here (that is a regular) DOESN'T know about the true flat t-molding threads

LOL just got my first upright yesterday. The cabaret has near prefect molding.

The molding threads consist of mostly of I am selling offset molding, or where can I get it. I had no idea if my cabinet needed it or not.

The cab is in my Dad's (he has the good wood working tools). I measured the plywood last night and it isn't a standard thickness, and I didn't rip the old molding off yet. The photo area the plywood is damaged on the outside.

Didn't realize I would get so much flak for asking people who have already done this.

I don't think they are intending to give too much flak; I think they were just genuinely surprised that someone hadn't heard about it. A lot of us here have been overly consumed with the whole Nintendo T-Molding thing for a long time now. :)

Plywood cabs shouldn't use offset molding, but that pic really does look like it is offset.
