I have a small cabaret style video poker machine that I picked up cheap a few years ago. It doesn't get played. I am wanting to convert it to something else but can't figure out what to go with. It uses a std res 13" monitor mounted horizontally. I don't think there is room to rotate the monitor. There is only room for 1 player at a time, no trackball space either. What do you suggest? Open to anything that'll work with this monitor and 1 player at a time restriction.

I already have an upright Rastan so that game is out.

Personally I'd make it a juke. There are plenty of other horizontal cabs with bigger monitors to multi.

Is there a 48-in-1 horizontal??

Mini-JAMMA cabinet for Horizontal games. 1 Joystick, 2 or 3 buttons, plus player 1&2 buttons on the control panel.

I have converted several poker cabinets into 48in1s and Horizontal MAMEs. Takes a little creative engineering to mount the components in there, but they turn out pretty cool.

Games I like that could work in there:

Black Tiger (JAMMA)
Empire City: 1931 (JAMMA)
Moon Patrol

@Osver: Thanks for the ideas. Black Tiger looks cool but kind of similar to Rastan, never played Empire City but it looks promising. Moon Patrol is a good idea but would like the dedicated cab for that. I'll put Empire City on the consideration list.

@gibbous: The juke is a neat idea. What would you put in there? A PC running what software?

I'll try to find some pics of it. I don't care for x-in-1 or MAME for things I keep, like to have 1 game per cabinet unless it's a factory-correct multi like PC10, Vs. Dual System, etc.

Would love to have a Solomon's Key but have never found that board for sale. Choplifter and Airwolf are on the short-list as well. Any other suggestions?

Gladiator would be my choice, but I don't think that's JAMMA, either...

I agree, Missile Command would be a great choice, not sure if the trackball will fit though. Gladiator looks neat but kind of similar to Rastan which I already have in the game room.

Doesn't matter to me if the board is jamma or not, want to pick a game and keep it in there.

At that size a 2 joystick, zero button game like robotron or Crazy Climber would be perfect. Unfortunately not a cheap convert though. Did they make any cheaper, less popular, yet still fun games like that. Was Tazz-mania that style, can't remember.

I like the 2 joystick idea, never thought of that. Crazy Climber looks neat, although I have never played it. Robotron is fun. Both going on the list.

Summary...

In the running:
Solomons Key - keithkrueger - hard to find
Airwolf - keithkrueger - cheap!
Choplifter - keithkrueger - cheap!
Moon Patrol - osver - not one of my favs but popular
Missle Command - gozer5454 - love it if trackball will fit
Crazy Climber - crazy climber - interesting 2 joystick idea
Robotron - crazy climber - interesting 2 joystick idea
Empire City 1931 - osver - cheap!
Generic Horizontal Jamma - artisan2084 - safe
Jukebox - gibbous - creative

Eliminated:
MAME - I don't like MAME cabs for keepers.
x-in-1 - I only like original multi's like PC10 or Neo Geo.
Black Tiger - osver - out because too similar to Rastan gameplay.
Gladiator - pookdolie - out because too similar to Rastan gameplay.

1. How about this for a 2 joystick game. Mame it to play Warrior.
Print off a clear sheet of plastic with the background. Throw in a small black light inside.
Get some custom inkjet cpo done.

2. Second choice is Space War. You almost have enough buttons.

Would be neat to do a custom Warrior mini but don't think cab is wide enough for 2 players to stand next to each other and play warrior or space war.
