I have what I'm pretty sure is a Joust. What is the best way to get to the original side art? It's been painted over a couple of times by the looks of it.

First check to see if the side art is still intact under the paint.

I would try this method (magic erasers and isopropyl alcohol). Takes a lot of effort, but works on some paint.

I also have a couple harnesses, board sets (not working), and PCB ground plates if you need them.

I'm in the same boat op. But my cab is gutted.

I plan on a multi approach tho.

Iso simple green and magic erasers. Where the art actually is, and in the brown places, I will try denatured alcohol to rewet the latex paint and try to use a plastic scraper.

Hope this helps. I'm already forgetting... But I think I paid 70-80 for mine. As I have been looking for 2 years, and the two I found were nonworking complete in the 400+ range.

Thanks for the advice. I used that method and it worked, but it is taking a lot of elbow grease and many pads. The art looks intact underneath, so that's good. Maybe I can attach the pads to a buffer somehow.

No buffers.... Slow and steady.. It will take a lot of time.

But if you want to save the art thats the best way.

go slow and take your time or will destroy the art underneath.

no buffer please.

Set the game on its side so you can work like it is a table - it is a LOT easier on your arm that way (and the alcohol stays where you put it).
