so there was some arcing blue light coming from my flyback but picture was still working fine. I decided to go ahead and replace the flyback and now I'm not getting picture. I get good neck glow, but I see a blue spark in the neck right by the neckboard that keeps sparking every couple seconds and making a cracking sound. picture is almost visible but it's way too bright and then it goes green, then red

any help?

Hmm. You didn't hear any "SHHHHHHH" at any point while pulling or reinstalling the chassis, did you? I'm hoping the tube hasn't lost vacuum.

It's possible you are seeing a cathode short inside the neck, but you would need a rejuvenator to clear it.

And pull off the neckboard and make sure none of the pins on the neck got bent when reinstalling...

no I haven't head any "SHHHHHH" at any point while removing or re-installing the chassis. it's weird cause it was working fine even with the old flyback, it's just I seen the flyback was leaking electricity so I replaced it. I hate this stupid Sharp Image chassis. I might try this K7000 I have which looks like the neckboard pins match. any danger in trying this k7000 with this tube? pins match so I assume it should be good?

Maybe. It's not just the pins that have to match, but the yoke measurements must match, too...

somebody else told me about taking measurements from the yoke and gave me a link with additional info but it was over my head. I think I officially give up on this monitor. both this sharp image chassis and k7000 chassis seem to have problems. Anybody in my area want a free Dynamo HS-5 cab with monitor trouble? come get it.

If you need someone to fix your K7000 chassis....

the K7000 probably works, just not in this cab with this tube. the sharp image is just a pain in the ass.

I have another K7000 in my TMNT cab and its never failed me. gave it a cap kit and it keeps running strong. This sharp image is the 2nd time it's giving me problems.
