I've got an old aluminum tool case that will soon hold my jamma test rig. It had some pieces glued in place that I removed, but there is this hard, yellowed adhesive that I just can't easily remove. I don't want to use a heavy grit sandpaper if possible. Tried thinner, acetone, xytol, and a chisel. Have been using the blast cab but the stuff is really resistant. Any ideas?

They make a special adhesive remover they sell in the stripper aisle
at Home Depot .. works wonders. Removes CP adhesive residue like butter.
I forget the name.

novus 2, goo gone would not even phase this stuff. xylol did nothing I already tried. I decided to coat it with citristrip and let it soak overnight, I then used a scrubby pad and some elbow grease and most of it came off. I also used a metal putty knife to remove some. After cleaning it off, there was actually some left in the creases that I was able to sand blast away. Sheesh. Stuff did not want to leave. Hopefully I can spray some primer tomorrow and start the restore/build.
