Help Removing a Warlords Cocktail Glass from the metal frame

Hey all,

I am finally getting some great progress done on my Warlords project I got off eBay many moons ago.

I picked up a new repro glass replacement, as the existing one was pretty dang scratched up.

On closer inspection, it seems like the metal completely surrounds the glass, and it really doesnt look like the glass can be removed from the metal without bending the metal.

Is there anyone out there that has done this already and can lent me some advice?

Is there some way that I am missing to disassemble the thing?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Thanks Vector Collector for the reply.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is L + L mean? I am guessing it is some machine to bend metal that I do not have. LOL

Thanks,

Chris

"L" is the shape of each metal piece holding in the glass.
There are two.
The metal are held in by screws and "friction" to the glass and wood piece.
Do not bend the metal pieces when removing as the center of the "L" is delicate and won't tolerate bending.
Replace the glass etc, and then put the two "L" metal pieces back on and add the screws.

(There should also be a tinted plexi and monitor bezel under the glass between it and the wood).

THUS ... L + L ... get it? LOL :001_sbiggrin:

Great Great stuff Vector Collector.

HUGE Thanks for putting that together for me. I really appreciate it.

I hadn't found either of those threads. Everyone I found never showed that metal disassembled.

I will be putting together some pics of my own journey through this restoration soon.

The glass brackets can be seen in the top left of this photo (I had all the metalwork off for sandblasting/powdercoating).

Remove the screws and wiggle the brackets a bit and they should slide out.

Man, I wish I had a coindoor. The only part that I am missing!

Well, that and the big wood piece that covers the side opposite the coin door.

Eventually I will likely have each of those made, since I am a complete-ist.

I bet I can handle making the wood cover myself, but the coindoor??????
