Help please!!! Big Buck Hunter woes. issue installing new hard drive

Hello!
I am repairing a Big Buck Hunter arcade game and need some advice and direction on next steps before I spend much more money.

Background:
Big Buck Hunter Sportsman's Paradise with upgrade to 2006 Call of the Wild (red motherboard).
The game turned on, and the start-up screen displayed "Detecting IDE Hard drive... 7. Hard drive detected" and thats it. The hard drive was making a crazy grunting sound so I assumed that was a good place to start.

I ordered a new 2006 BBH Call of the Wild hard drive with security chip and installed.
Some progress. The game seems to boot up and the system test runs. The final screen I see is a bright red one: "Software Version incompatible with hardware. Key code #60202 - ITS serial board number 00000000-b". The installation manual says to restart over again if this screen appears. Did it 10 times with no luck. Also want to mention that I followed installation instructions that were in the cabinet for the previous upgrade. I plugged the phone line in, etc.

I believe there is an issue related to a previous upgrade done to this machine, causing an error between existing chips and the new hard drive. What to do!!

Thanks for any input!

Where did you get the drive and key ? I had the same problem with
a Golden Tee 2005. Turns out I had a key for the Canadian version and
my drive image was for the US.

when did you do that upgrade from SP to Call of the Wild?

Did some troubleshooting with IT directly. I may need to get a new security chip for the hard drive. I am not sure when the game was upgraded.
I got the hard drive with a new U115 software chip and NOT the U53 security chip. I suppose I would need a new security chip even though I not doing an upgrade, and just replacing the hard drive.

More info to come from IT. They are looking up the security key from the upgrade that was previously done to see if that chip can be reused.

they are checking for compatibility between the software and the motherboard. I suspect the previous upgrade may have never been completed and I am finishing it up. Incredible technologies is OK about taking service phone calls, but they arent so great with following up.

Update?

Hello, what ever came of this issue that you had? I am wondering because I want to upgrade my BBH to call of the wild. I have the new hard drive and 2.9 boot eprom. I have the upgrade CD for call of the wild but I am worried it won't work because ITnet is no longer available. Does anyone know if the upgrade will work or not? Thanks

I'm pretty sure that boardset is not longer supported by IT and you cannot upgrade the board using the upgrade CD (you would also need the U53 security chip to match the version of the game your running)
