Help please!!! Big Buck Hunter woes. issue installing new hard drive
Hello!
I am repairing a Big Buck Hunter arcade game and need some advice and direction on next steps before I spend much more money.
Background:
Big Buck Hunter Sportsman's Paradise with upgrade to 2006 Call of the Wild (red motherboard).
The game turned on, and the start-up screen displayed "Detecting IDE Hard drive... 7. Hard drive detected" and thats it. The hard drive was making a crazy grunting sound so I assumed that was a good place to start.
I ordered a new 2006 BBH Call of the Wild hard drive with security chip and installed.
Some progress. The game seems to boot up and the system test runs. The final screen I see is a bright red one: "Software Version incompatible with hardware. Key code #60202 - ITS serial board number 00000000-b". The installation manual says to restart over again if this screen appears. Did it 10 times with no luck. Also want to mention that I followed installation instructions that were in the cabinet for the previous upgrade. I plugged the phone line in, etc.
I believe there is an issue related to a previous upgrade done to this machine, causing an error between existing chips and the new hard drive. What to do!!
Thanks for any input!
