Ok so it works when it wants, then turns green...

I changed the tube with a spare I had and I still get a green screen just way brighter (which is a plus when i get it working i guess lol)

I swapped out the G pot on the neck board...turned it on and green...turned the game off, turned it back on, its working...I left it on, but im sure it will turn back green shortly (as it always does sometimes 5 min, or 3 hours)

So its something on the chassis or neck board?

I assume something is shorting out after time, or me moving the frame (I have it out of the cab) jiggles something back into making a full connection...

Any ideas of my next step?

Thanks,
Brian

same chassis, different tubes? I had a run of those a few years ago from my games where all those color transistors needed the solder sucked off and new laid down. mainly cause I was losing entire colors after cap kits. I don't know the logistics of what each leg does off hand, but I'm sure there's a way to get green to fire full blast if one of them has poor connection.

Yes, same chassis different tubes ( i wanted to narrow it down quickly as possible as its in my buddies arcade bar)

So transistors on the neck board is my next step? I can re solder those easily....if not, maybe the green transistor is starting to crap out (or a cold solder).

Basically if the screen isnt playing the game its a bright green...so ill try that in the morning. When the game is being played on the monitor, its a great picture...just turns solid green after awhile...

as I've suggested in countless monitor threads, try rotating the transistors around. when you pull the transistors though, remove all the old solder for best results.

Try taking off your sunglasses.

I would 100% rock those everyday except St. Patty day ;)

also, its still running 100% going on 4 hours...so hopefully its fixed, but either way Ill def clean them and swap them around as suggested tomm.

Thanks again,

ok, did all suggested ideas and no dice...

When i posted this thread, it was few hours after i had it running and was left on all night and ran fine...the next morning i remounted the monitor, and took it back to the game floor in its spot...
I turned it on and it was green again, so i then did all the suggested ideas (even took transistors off the "donor chassis neck board" to see if that changed. (we tested all them with a multimeter and go 7.9(?) readings on all 6 (3 from each neck board) so i figured they were still good.

It worked for a min then went back green. Tomm morning I am going to hook this monitor and chassis up to the DK and try and rule out the monitor and chassis as a whole. If it does, then Im guessing this could be a PCB issue? its a Mario Brothers vs PCB

dude. do you have a Sanyo Z2AW in there instead of an EZ? those came with the inverter boards which are totally redundant. take a picture of the right side of the monitor.

there is not a inverter board...i plugged it into the DK and it worked fine..so now its the PCB..its a MDS vs with mario bros chips...there is a 2nd side I could maybe move them over to and see if that side works better...I see there are R/G/B pots on the boards (2 sets) so that might be issue...i brought the board home (im pretty sure it will hook into my PC10 single) and see what happens...

Thanks for all the help..I think I got it. It was on the pcb...got it hooked up to my pc10 at home. Which has now inspired me to go buy the nes adapter and Pak to get back to playing on this machine at my house lol...(no idea why it loaded the pic upside down)
