I need some help with my CRT.
Got it some time ago and now it's time to get it up and running.
I recapped it and turned it on. Somehow the red green and blue are totally not overlaying.
Also the image is narrower at the top then at the bottom of the crt, almost like a trapezoid.
Anyone have an idea what this could cause? i read somewhere that i need to adjust the convergeance rings?

The crt is in great condition with no screen burn, i hate to see it get wasted.

Something is wrong with the yoke (bad/not aligned anymore) and/or with the convergence rings. If it's an Orion tube the rings come loose due to broken ring lock.

Thx for the reply!!

I started inspecting the yoke as i couldnt get the colors from the convergeance rings to line.
The lock for the rings seems to work ok altho it is an orion tube.

So i started inspecting further.
Attached a picture of the suspected problem......

started to measure the yoke readings.

Horizontal yoke 3.8 ohms
Vertical yoke 14 ohms

i think the horizontal is to high here. Should be because of the bad yoke wiring i believe.

ok i cleaned everything from corrosion and reattached the wires.
Yoke reading was now 2.4 ohms which is in spec.

so i hooked everything up and... it works!!
Screen is crisp and bright. Convergeance a little off from fiddling with it earlier but after some tuning all is good. Ready to put into a cabinet.
