HELP - Noob with an Astro City Cab

LOL - yeah, it's BAD.

It is in vertical mode - and I have shifted it (carefully) from horizontal and back - but at this point, I'm afraid to move it again. :)

Everything should be cool as long as it is unplugged. I'm assuming you had to pull the monitor out to rotate it? Why not just pull it out all the way? I've currently have my monitor on the floor because it is so much easier to test that way. I just had to unclip the wiring from my Blast City and route it out the front service panel. My Nanao monitor had absolutely no screws in it either, but at least it was seated pretty well on the frame. I just took one screw from my other monitor frame and used that. It only really needs one I suppose. ;)

I think I know the answer, but yours has no remote board, right? I know if those become disconnected, that will cause the monitor not to come on. What model is your monitor?

It's the original Nanao that came with the cab - that's all i know :/

Not sure what you mean by remote board?

Luckily I found a close arcade (Richie Knuckelz) who's agreed to come by and check it out (and help me get the inside back in order).

Will keep you guys updated in a few weeks when we work on it - but in the meantime, THANK YOU - you guys have been great and i really appreciate it.

more later!

Open up the control panel, if you have a remote board (a pcb with dials on it that let you adjust monitor settings), it will be there. I had a similar thing happen to me in my Astro City -- I had just gotten it home, it worked when I picked it up... Lots of troubleshooting later, I found out the connection to the remote board had come loose. Plugged it back in and the monitor fired right back up.

I think somebody mentioned this already, but have you tried removing and then securely reconnecting the neckboard? I think I remember mine coming a bit lose when I rotated my Blast Shi... City monitor to vertical (resulting in no picture).

Does the monitor even power up? Like does it crackle on and you get static electricity on the tube?

Yep - it's on. Static, and that flash when you shut off a tube happens - and I can hear the degaussing happening when I hit demag.

Been looking at this thing for 3 days - it's mind boggling to me at this point. Is it possible the RGB ribbon cable is bad? That's all I can think of at this point...

Did you ever check the screen pot on the flyback? I can turn mine just a little bit and the screen goes black.
