I've been trying to get this Satan's Hollow going that I picked up last year. So far, I've replaced the power supply with a switcher and MCR adapter from arcadeshop and cdjump has repaired the boardset.

I have the game playing, but I'm not getting any sound. Occasionally, I get the gray/white screen on boot, but it will boot into the game if I reset it a couple of times...(not sure if this issue is related or not).

At one point, I was getting a loud hum with no game sounds (before I put in the switcher). Now the hum is gone. I have also pulled another audio amp board from a Tron CT and tried it in the SH, but I get the same results. Looking at both audio amp boards, there are no broken traces, components, etc.

I'm having trouble reading the schematics with the copies that I have found online, so I can't trace where to check the voltage on the audio board. Not sure what else to check.

I confirmed that cdjump tested the audio when the board was repaired and everything passed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need to find the SH a new home and having it fully working would make it easier... :p

Thanks in advance!!

Check your fuses in the bottom of the game, if i am not mistaken there is still one in play even with the switcher. I could be wrong but look anyway.

Have you tested the small amplifier board? If everything else you stated is good.....that's about the only thing left, beside...maybe bad wiring or connectors.

Thanks for the tips. I checked the fuses and I had 2 that looked good but didnt test. I replaced a 5A and a 3A and now my loud hum is back...still no game sounds.

As far as testing the audio amp boards, I have 2 of them and I'm getting the same results from both. Out side of plugging them in, I do not know of any way to test them. I cant make out the scanned schematics enough to figure out where to test the 12v on it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks again for the help!

can you post a link to the schematic and I will look 4 u.

I recently had a problem with a sound board and Riptor figured it out. He tested the sound with his logic probe and found a bad cap right at the input to the amp.

looks like connector j5 pins 13 and 15. J6 connector is the ac input to the diode bridge that will give you the dc voltage.

I suggest putting the game into the self test and look at the settings for the sound, I think it is the 2nd item on the list. Since you are getting a hum it is probably getting power. Also inside the cab is the volume control, Right side of coin door. Turn it clock wise to raise volume. While you are there look for broken wires and inspect for damage.

pin 4 of c10 a 3403 part should have +12 volts on it.
