Help needed quickly...making a hybrid JAMMA/MVS cab
Hey guys, this is one issue I need a quick assist on so I can get the right parts ordered, so any help is greatly appreciated. Basically, here's the scenario:
We're wanting to wire up our Neo MVS-4-25 cab to be a hybrid MVS and JAMMA cab. We've ordered a 6-in-1 JAMMA switcher, and the cab currently has an MVS harness and MV-4F 4-slot board. What would be the best way to wire this cab up, so that we can flip a switch and go from MVS to JAMMA and back? Here are the ideas I have, and I need to know which ones are possible, and of those, the most feasible, cost effective and sane:
A) Keep the existing MVS harness, and splice a JAMMA harness to it somehow. Use a two-throw switch on certain wires to switch between boards (CHEAPEST)
B) Replace the MVS harness with a JAMMA harness, wire up the 6-in-1, then use a MVS-to-JAMMA adapter and JAMMA extender cable from the MV-4F to one of the slots on the 6-in-1 (thus leaving me with only 5 empty JAMMA slots) (SEMI-EXPENSIVE)
C) Replace the MVS harness with a JAMMA harness, connect a 2-in-1 JAMMA extension cable to the harness (the 2-in-1 with the pushbutton selector, not the remote version), then use an MVS-to-JAMMA adapter (and possibly a JAMMA extension cable) to connect to the 2-in-1. Connect the 6-in-1 to the other side of the 2-in-1 (thus leaving me with all six slots empty....most expensive solution)
Seriously, I'm confused as hell. I'm sure others have done similar things with their cabs....whats the best (and cheapest) option?
