Help needed in reparing Wizards of Wor unit Electronics/Hardware

Hello,

Can anyone confirm that these are from Wizards of Wor and where I can find some schematics? I put it in storage with plans to turn it into a more portable machine with a custom build. But now it no longer works, we've been trying to decompile how it works over at my office which just happens to be filled with electricians. but the wiring was a mess when we got it, and we don't want to cut or re-arrange anything until we have a better understand of what each piece of equipment is, what it controls, what it's called, and hopefully have a wiring schematic somewhere for it as well to help us take it apart and put it back together again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Dunno if the transformer boards are from a WOW, but the switcher is not original.

The other white piece apears to be a destroyed interlock switch. It doesnt appear that it is going to be all that useful to you...

Yeah, the switcher was my fault. We didn't install it on the machine, it came with it. But I messed up when removing it....... Now we have it bypased so it's always on....but the stuff still doesn't seem to be doing much of anything other than giving us meter readings.

I didn't save the speakers, as I plan to hotwire in some computer speakers, or even ones that came with our CD player. I want to be able to record the sound as well..

So, the first task is to cut off all the wires we DON'T need, and then figure out what we DO need. I'll try and take more detailed pics at work if anyone can help speed the process along with advice. These pics where from my camera phone..

Thanks for all the help so far. The manual should be a good starting point. Oh, and is everything easily replaceable, should we need to buy new? Curious as to what a good place for that would be and how much it'd cost me....

Thanks

wait a minute, i would do it like this: figure out what you DO need, then, cut off the wires you DON'T need. thats probably what you meant but i thought it important to point that out because its a bunch easier when you arent rewiring wires you cut off by mistake.

That too :)

But in a sense, I already know most of the wires on there. We have some attatched to a second transitor that don't seem to be going anywhere. The transistor itself through tests doesn't seem to be working at all and only has two wires hooked up to the front of it.

This thing is a real mess and I'll post some pics in a few minutes

Second mystery box that Jamma Connector is hooked up to: What's this one called?

With all these pics, where would you guys start in determining what is wrong, what wires or transitors might not be needed, etc? brand new at this ;)

Mystery box is a line filter.

Mystery box #2 is a power supply.

That thing you're calling a transistor is actually a transformer....two very different things.

Yeah, sorry. The guys here keep on telling me and I keep on mixing it up....

I guess the first thing we've got to do is to test to make sure the fuses still work. I've been told that the Power Supply and Transformers can be easily replaced if worse comes to worse and it's not going to cost an arm and a leg.

If we replace all the fuses and it still doesn't work, what should be the next step? BTW, have you guys ever seen one as in bad a shape as this and still try to fix it, rather than go all new?

Oh, and where is a good place to get brand new joysticks and buttons? I want to make this a four player once we get it back up and working...

Edit

What we also need is a wiring diagram for the transformers and eveything else.......So if we really do need to replace anything, we can easily hook it back up. Does any such thing exist? Sorry for sounding like just a major noob, but I want to do this right and asking questions is the only way to do it :)

Add on, OK, I feel like a real nube.

The Printer didn't print all of the manual, so I see the wiring diagram now. And I also discovered that the switch I took a photograph of was only an interlocking switch, not an easier to access On/Off switch. Now I've got to find out which wires where the on Off switch that I cut off when I took the whole thing apart and see if it works that way. If it does, all problems solved. Anyone have any idea how I might be able to identify them, or where in this rig they'd be coming off of?

Thanks again for putting up with me :)
