I was given this 4900 that someone did a very nice high temp cap kit on, because it was all green.

Well, it really wasn't green. There was no blue and very little red. All adjustments on the neck board lead to more or less green.

Hmmm, where have I heard this sad story before? Here is what she looks like...

Time to break out the trusty B&K 490 rejuvenator. Here is what she looks like now...

Just for those who are confused by color bars...

Moral of the story... If you just did a cap kit and the adjustment pots on the neck board make no difference in colors, you may want to rejuv your tube before changing out the color drive transistors.

Wow. Sheesh. Gives me some hope for this Sanyo if I can find someone around here that has a rejuv and how to work it. :) That's awesome. I'm just getting into this but I'm finding all the monitor stuff fascinating. I've always been a computer geek but never got into the electronics side of things, just software and gaming. Never thought I'd be looking into learning CRT stuff after all the computers went LCD but I also never thought I'd buy two arcade cabinets in the same week, much less my first two. :)

And the nice thing is you don't need some outrageously expensive unit to do this.....I don't know what I would do without my little Sencore CR161.
