Where moving and I was moving my machines to the den with my lil bro when where done moving it, he looks at the adjusting tv tuner thing and says whats this and just drops it slamming against the cab and breaking two adjuster things . Now my cab is useless because I cant adjust v-hold knob.

Does anyone know If where I can get a replacement or fix it ? It seems to work fine but I half to hold my finger on the v-hold part it might be using my body's static elec. to hold it. Can I just buy a new knobs and stick em in the little holes? the moniter is a neotec grafixs model: nt-5215c. I just need to find where i can buy a new a knob to stick into there or if spare adjuster

The little adjusting knob is called a potentiometer (or "pot") and they have different values and ratings. This means you can't just stick any "pot" you find in there, it will need to match. If the pot itself does not have the value on it you will need need to look in the manual. If you don't have the manual you can find them online http://www.mikesarcade.com/arcade/monitors.html

You could have cracked the pot itself. In that case you should replace it.

It's also possible you have merely cracked the solder connection from the pot to the circuit board. If that's the case you can get away with just remelting the solder that's on the board with a soldering iron.

Either way, this requires using a soldering iron to repair.

EDIT: Ok, I just looked at the pictures of the pots and they're done for. You need to get new ones.

Spelling/grammar issues aside, this part kind of scares me and indicates that you should not attempt to repair this yourself.

omg ! thanks alot really good hearted people here : ) I'm afraid I don't know how to use a solder I know I need pots for sure now I sent Bob a email hopeing he can help me I identifying the pot I need.

Is there any where I can send my tuner and get my thing fixed? like a arcade repair shop ?

There are a few repair places you could mail the board to, I"m sure people will chime in with their favorites. If you post your location, there might be someone local who can help you out, too.

bob said I need to compare the values and foot print what does that mean?

"They look like type "C" but you'd need the values & compare them & the
footprint to my Pot Page:

I'm in California . Los Angeles the ghetto part

Why don't you add your city to your profile? There may be a collector here who would take 10 minutes out of his/her day and solder those for you for nothing. Hell.... they may even have spare POTs on hand...

The footprint refers to the way the pins from the pot are put into the board. If you go to the page Bob Roberts sent you, you'll get an array of diagrams. The circles in the diagrams are where the little feet go. The lines and distances are the spaces between the holes. So get out a ruler and measure them on your board and find a match. That will give you the type.

He also needs the values, it's usually a number like 20000k if I remember. It's usually printed somewhere on the pot. Check both of them and make sure they're not different. If they are different you need to give him both values, also be sure to note which pot value goes where on the board.

As far as soldering goes maybe you can find someone to do it for you, maybe even on these forums.

damn I'm very stupid person I don't know how to do that stuff I might order the wrong pot ! I might just sell the cap with the broken pot! how much do you think I can sell it for? the capcom vs snk cab?

Im from Boulder, Colorado born and raised . where you from?

If users have their information filled out, their location appears in the upper right hand corner of their post. As you can see from mine, I also live in Boulder, but I'm working in Denver right now. If you pm me with your address, I would be interested in having a look at your machines. Going to be available Sunday morning?
