Here are the three titles I am considering:

Sonic Generations ($30) - Black Friday special. I have played the demo and I really liked it, it seems like a return to the roots of the Sonic series. This is the most expensive game on the list.

Splatterhouse ($20) - Newegg. A game to complete the set of games I've owned over the years starting with the Turbografx-16. I have heard the new game is just average though.

Duke Nukem Forever ($10) Black Friday special. I loved the original Duke Nukem 3d, I thought it was really a showcase for what a 32 bit system could do back then with the Saturn. This new game has gotten terrible reviews, but I still want to see how it turned out.

Thoughts? Money is tight this year, I am actually considering not purchasing any of the three and waiting for further price drops. I am undecided though.

Duke and Splatterhouse both have really bad reviews... I'd go with sonic if you know you like it from playing the demo.

Sonic seems worth it. I'll be waiting until it drops in price though as I don't have time to play it right now anyway.

Duke is fun if you really liked Duke 3D and can still handle the childish humor :) I enjoyed it, but never finished it. I'd like to, though. I think it's worth the cheap price.

I can't speak for Splatterhouse.

Why limit yourself to those games. I think Battlefield 3 is around $30 at Best Buy.

I'd save my money and not buy any of those.

Battlefield 3 is great if you have Xbox Live Gold are going to play it online, but it's a poor proposition if you only want a single player campaign as it's so short. And it's a much better game on PC with free online, better graphics, better controls and supports more players. It's best played with buddies, so which version you get depends on which version your buddies have.

Skyrim, Forza Motorsport 4 and Batman Arkham City are probably the best new games for the 360 at the moment.

Bought Sonic Generations and DNF last night. I will try not to open them until later to give myself something to look forward to during the holidays. Deleted the Sonic 4 live demo since this is way better.

I'd say of the three, you picked the two better ones. I still want to pick up SG, but I don't think I want to pay more than $30 for it, and don't want it on PC.

Thanks to cyber monday, Splatterhouse was on sale for almost half off, so I picked that up along with Bioshock 2. Looks like I'm stocked up for the holidays, and now I have all the Splatterhouse games. After this last one, I doubt Namco will make any more.
