After another seriously painful test, I'm being scheduled for back surgery. While i have the extra funds, i want to get started on prepping an art project to get done, so i have some way of making some extra cash while i'm layed up. What out there really needs done? It can't be Atari, Darin will be doing most everything atari did. What else has wide appeal but never been done, or been out for a long time? Love to hear some ideas!

Mike's arcade has Q*bert bezels. Edot just isn't wide enough appeal. Has to be a more common game. Something like DJW90's black widow art, but i want to stay away from atari.

Yea but Mikes are plexi right? I want glass.

I'll beat the drum to you again. There are no quick money making art repro projects out there imo. Most of my projects take years to break even.

Maybe have a big sale on your killer cabinets?

I understand darin, there are some where i think i could make my initial investment back fairly quick, but i have to find the right one! Cabs are on the way out for me, time to move on to something that's less physically demanding.

What about replacement full size marquees designed to fit the Capcom Big Blue cabinets? I have had a really hard time locating these since most were cut down for other conversions. In my opinion the following list appears to be sought after:

Street Fighter II Championship Edition
Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting (I am not sure if there ever was a full size version)
Street Fighter III, all variants
Dungeons and Dragons, both TOD and SOM
Punisher

I am sure there are more but this list would be a good start.

I get asked for SF art all the time. I just can't seem to catch up on Atari projects and reprints and I'm using 3 different printers.

No one has done Altered Beast CPOs. I think Mikonos already has the artwork. I have to think that it would have already been done if enough people really wanted it.

The biggest problem is the daze of running 100+ of something like DK art are over.
pretty much all of the major projects have allready been done and in some cases still in stock.
so whats left are smaller/riskier projects that are being done for the sake of getting done in VERY small qtys with little to no chance of getting redone.

Most screen shops will have a min of 100 sometimes 50 depending on the art and setups involved but since your having to source that out anyways
I would think that finding projects in other areas would be more productive/profitable
wood pieces (not full on cabs) control panels backdoors, etc.
or plastics and metals maybe even source out and build new SW yokes.

and Darrins not the only one running Atari art :D

no, keyholders are pretty much done. It takes way too long to package them and get shipping prices, since they are all different sized, etc. The idea of an art project was to get it done, prepackage everything, and while i'm recovering from surgery, the wife can mail things out, help me with keeping track of everything, etc.

Black widow cpo's i'd think would be a good seller. Prok did them bitd, and gave the info to arcadeshop, who's done nothing with it.
Once i'm healed up, i will be doing limited runs of cabinets with artwork/tmolding etc. Just unwrap it and install parts.

Brett, if things were this easy to make a quick buck during a few months (while you're rehabbing) everyone would be doing it.

I wish you well in whatever direction you take.

True that.

Maybe you could come up with something that we don't realize we need. Be creative, if the key holder idea won't work then come up with something else. If you create something nobody else makes, you'll be the only place to get it. The more creative, the more money you'll make.
