Help me order the right parts for my Multi-Williams

I was thinking about selling off all my Williams boards as well.

My multi Stargate would be complete but I can't find a CPO like that anywhere. (maybe I'm just not looking hard enough) :)

Am I missing something doesn't arcade shop sell these or are you talking about another run somewhere?

I am not sure who but somebody else was modding these up a little to better fit the jrok board.

Links would be awesome for that...

Yeah, The arcadeshop one is a little different and I'm not into it so much. The one I do like however is the one that Ken has on his. I think it looks alot better than the AS one.

I have searched all over for that thread on the cool Williams cpo's. With not a bit of luck. Maybe the the thread was over on byoac?

There were several going just about the time of the switch to the new board software (here is one: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=71144&highlight=multi-williams+bezel).

I bought my CPO from arcadedoctor which has since received a serious drubbing. I thought it was a decent product at a reasonable price. But several people have taken offense at the shipping delays and "defective" product (I'll let those threads speak for themselves).

The artwork is available at: http://www.localarcade.com/arcade_art/details.php?image_id=231. But you will need to get someone to print it for you. Mamemarquees supposedly will, but I have had 0% luck in getting a response from them.

Tanman was going to come out with reprints along with the bezel (which is out) and marquees, but I am not sure what happened (thread:http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=81369).

Hope this helps.

Why is it that when I decide to get back into restores there is no one source for JROK style "Williams Multigames" CPO, Marquee, and Bezel?

I really don't like the look of the AS kit as well and if the JROK board doesn't have Moon Patrol and Sinistar on it then whats the point getting artwork that markets those games. I wouldn't mind getting the AS kit if the board wasn't so darn expensive.

I just want my Multi-Williams project out of my garage and in my arcade. It's been almost 2 years now.

Maybe I'll buy the parts for my DK project first, and by the time I am done with that project a kit will be available (hopefully).

This has probably been asked some where else, is it possible or are there plans of you adding anymore games to this board? I think your board is awesome but was wondering if you had any plans for it in the future? Is the hardware too different for Moon Patrol and such? If not and more games were made available would it be a simple ROM swap? I'd REALLY like to see Moon Patrol on that list with a few others!

The JROK board was based on "classic" Williams hardware. Moon Patrol was built by IREM and in no way resembles the Williams architecture.
Later Williams boards (Mystic Marathon, Turkey Shoot, Joust 2 & Inferno) while related are significantly different from the earlier boards. I haven't looked closely at MotoRace USA or Smash TV, but I am guessing those are also very different.

The "Williams" multi cards that include Moon Patrol are actually MAME on a chip just like the 48n1s, etc. The other Williams multis (i.e. the Clay Cowgill boards) use the Williams CPU and have a ROM switching scheme to fool the board into loading specific game ROMS. These are even more limited than the JROK board as they can't handle Bubbles or Splat! (Bubbles requires 16 bit CMOS and Splat! requires the DMA chip 2s).
