Public vintage arcade opening in July. Help me name it:

Choose your top three, or feel free to add your own ideas:

Cosmic Quarters
Gozer's Grand Palace
Lunar Lounge
Crystal Palace
Dark Sector
Kodan Cantina

Thanks... agreed 100%. I want there to be a brandable name, but will have Vintage Arcade or Playable Vintage Arcade Museum or similar in the tagline.

i.e...

Gozer's Grand Palace
Playable Vintage Arcade Museum

Cosmic Quarters is the coolest name of the ones listed, though I'd lose the words "public" (why would it not be public?) and "museum" (kids don't want to go to a museum).

The name needs to be exciting. "The Arcade of Yesterday and Tomorrow" would work as a tagline. "Tomorrow" to get kids to ask their parents to take them, and "yesterday" to get them to say yes.

I'd recommend having some modern titles, drivers, and redemption games in addition to the classics. That's where you're going to make your money. A good pinball or two would also be cool.

Good luck!

My vote is Lunar Lounge, but you must have a Lunar Lander...:D

I do in fact have a Lunar Lander... So Lunar Lounge is definitely in contention.

Vintage Arcade Video Game Lounge

OR

Vintage Arcade Game Insomniac Night Alternative (VAGINA)

Lunar Lounge is the one that I liked best. You may want to stay away from Cosmic Quarters because you don't want to box yourself in if you end up changing prices. I was at Golfland a week ago and almost all of their machines were set for $1. Hard to believe the kids were playing them at that price, but they were plugging in tokens like crazy.

Is this for a real arcade that needs to bring people in and potentially make money?

How about:

"FREE BEER"
"MASSAGE PARLOR"
"GENTLEMAN'S CLUB"
"FREE BABYSITTING"

or if the above doesn't strike your fancy:

"SPACE FOR LEASE IN NEAR FUTURE"

EDIT: Oh, what about "Korova Milkbar" ? :D

Sweet.. You in Boise? If you name it Lunar Lounge, I might have to drop in and see if I can beat my Lunar Lander world record!!:eek:

Yup, I'm in Eagle just outside of Boise. I read somewhere that you started your Lunar Lander addiction at PoJo's in Boise back in the day. It would be super cool to have you visit the arcade when you're in town next. And yup, if you like I'll setup the tri-pod and you can go for a new record.

Spudcade - Where the (Couch) Potatos Play.
Fried Quarters
Potatopalooza

You gotta play up the Idaho potato connection ;)

Yea spent many days at Pojos on Fariview:) My parents live in Eagle.. Now I will have a place close to drop some quarters:D Now all they need in Eagle is a Flying Pie Pizza, but I guess I can settle for Chicago Connection...

There are some great Klovers in your area, im sure they would support a new local arcade..

Check your Lunar Lander and see if it will accept the Twin Galaxies settings.. If so let me know, I would be happy to come play for a few hours when im in town this summer..

8-Toggle Dip Switch On Lunar Lander PCB (At P8)
1-5 = ON
6 = OFF/UNUSED
7 = ON
8 = OFF
Note: The above Dip Switches, are not only the FACTORY DEFAULT settings, but are also the correct Twin Galaxies Tournament Settings for this title and will provide the following settings;
