I just took my Tapper marquee off for the first time because the bulb is going. When I took the bezel off i discovered it is covered in a layer of dirt. I washed the dirt off with just water in the sink. now an area of the paint is flaking up. I need a fast solution most of the pieces are still attatched.

I think the spot is where the water was running onto the marquee, I've ruined it!!!

The pin guys use some sort of clear thick gel crap that will harden over the dried paint and preserve whats left. Also makes it easier to clean in the future.

You might want to check with them. They do it on the back glasses or at least they used too.

Yeah, Krylon Triple Thick. Thats the stuff they use on back glasses. Should work the same on glass marquees.

It is and it does.

I've used in on pinball back glass, game monitor bezels and marquess that are glass. I did a Zookeeper bezel that had a couple of bubbles in it just before the weekend and will get the marquee for it and a bezel for a Sea Wolf next weekend.

Read through the article on pinrepair.com for a ton of details.

The only thing that I don't do from his article is to try to clean the artwork first. The stuff I clearcoat already has flaking or bubbles in it and the cleaning usually makes things worse.

So will triple thick allow it to lay flat, and bond it to the glass again??? The referenced fail story makes it sound like if it's hydrated it will lay flat. Rather than water, the TT will 'glue' the art down?
