*HELP!* Inserting jamma connector board pins, which way?

Ok, I got the -5v connector on finally!
Pics will come later..
I THINK I MAY HAVE SHOT MY SELF IN THE FOOT THOUGH!

WHICH WAY TO PUT IN THE PINS?
Am i supposed to pull them into the connector from the board side and run the wire out the back??

OR

Am I supposed to push it in from behind and into place??

As of now I am trying to push it into place from behind and it seems to
want to turn and bind without fully going into place then seems that it bends
the pressure area some what..

Thank you!!

Push the pin in from the wire side. They wouldn't do it the other way, because then you'd have to thread the whole wire through the connector...

ok

Ok,
thats what I was thinking..
now I gotta figure out why it wants to twist..
Are the NEO 29 Jamma connector pins different than the standard?
its a bob roberts -5v line I bought.

Thanks for the input!! :)

hurmm,

ok, Keeps wanting to twist,
any other tips?
should i stick a paperclip in there and hold down the black plastic then pull it out to lock it into place?
As of now it seems no matter how tightly or how much i prevent it from twisting.
still seems to wanna bind sideways..

You do realize that there are multiple types of connectors, right? AMP brand pins won't fit into a Molex connector and vice versa. Are you sure you're using the correct type of pin for the housing you have? What game is this?

For example, Atari used AMP connectors, but you can't get them anymore. Molex brand pins don't fit, so you really have to replace the whole connector if one pin goes bad.

pics of connector. and socket

Ok, this is for the jamma connector and the pin thats on the bob roberts -5v
this jamma side connector is a neo 29 connector..
Have a jamma adapter and hard wired -5v prefered.

picture quality may not be best camera was giving me crap

Yea their split

Yes, They look split on half as well, I have not tried taking one out.
ALTHOUGH, if you look at the ones already in they seem to have a slight piece of metal going over the rounded tip?
..but the pins already in the connector appear to be split pins also?

hurmm.

It seems stock Neo 29,
BUT it does look like the one end of the connector had a rounded edge made on it..
might be viewable in the pic..
**EDIT**
Yes, viewable best in picture 4 of the 4 above.

JST is a connector manufacturing company, the 'C' indicates that the connector was manufactured in the US.

So far, that hasn't helped me much since I can't find this type of edge connector on their website...

checking

Checking all the supplies and parts and stuff I have
only other similar and not really close ones
I have are a single blade instead of split..
So, looking a little more but don't think I have any others.
Thought someone sent some before when i put out the request
for help, but Im thinking their the buck deal I got..

The pins in the connector are oddly shaped. You could take other pins that you have and see if any of them fit securely. I am currently looking for pins of that pitch that look like what you have installed but I am not having much luck...

LOL Yea, Tell me about it..

Lol.. tell me about it.. I know that search..
Thank you !!!!
I ended up going to a local shop and got one for the other side.
I have another thread on the -5v side.
I ended up going to see Matsu and got a used one.
I am more than happy with used LOL.. and there I thought I had it nailed
today and all ready to go LOL..

I don't know if its a NEO thing or what. it just seems nothing on this cab so far has been standard even to japan standard..

Guess I'm looking at it as geeking out and running into walls and learning more as I go..
This has been a fun 1st cab that I didn't think was going to be such a challenge!! LOL!!

But I am almost done fine tuning into what I want to get it all fine tuned to.

So as of now still trying to find the jamma side..
suprised how much there is when it comes to one wont fit another but do understand why.
Just wish i could get these in and working, LOL 1st board to test will be MK...

stupid issues with quality up close shots.

Ok, Well. another try, not working though.

Ok. I got the new SOLID no split pins, wired them up tried them (luckly I asked for a lil longer on the wire! so room to spare)
so tried these.
