I've tried to figure out the name of an old cabinet arcade game I played about 13 years ago several times, but I never find anything on Google and I have no idea what the name might be, so I'm unable to give any real hints, other than a description of the game play:
It was a coin-op shooter; you played as a bi-plane, I believe, viewed from the side, and your opponents were UFOs that came in a wide variety of sizes, IIRC, from about half the size of your plane, up to about half the screen in size.
The background was dark, if I recall, and possibly starry, and the UFOs were the standard flying saucer sort; I think they were yellow-green with flashing yellow lights.
There was one thing about the game that was very distinct: it was completely free-scrolling, and the plane changed direction as it flew up/down/left/right; in other words, you did not just face one direction and move in one direction; you could fly in any direction you wanted, seemingly as far as you wanted, and the plane would turn to face whichever direction you were flying, so you could shoot in 360 degrees.
I believe this was one of the most fun games I ever played, but I have never been able to figure out which one it was; I only played it for about half an hour in a small arcade in the Kansas City airport, but it obviously left a big impression.
Any help figuring out which game this is would be greatly appreciated.
