Hello. I'm wondering how to identify Skee-Ball boards as my board doesn't seem to have any markings. It looks just like an extreme board, and a label on one of the chips is dated 2002. Ultimately I'm looking for a manual with schematic. I have the Rev D manual, but it's showing only one fuse even though my board has at least six fuses.

I'm also looking at Extreme PCB manuals to compare and they don't show any fuses at all. Very confusing.

Thanks.

Lightnings were the switch over from the older model S controller box that had a combined power/logic board to the newer/smaller rectangle PCB that was logic only (with a separate standard switching power supply) boxed with the display. You'll have to find the correct version of the manual. It sounds like you have the newer version but post a pic to confirm.

That is the newer style they used on later lightnings, extreme, too!, etc. They also used the board on super shot jr (name?) the dual mini basketball game. If you can't find the lightning manual for that version of the pcb, maybe the later skeeball games listed above will have info in their manuals.

So from what I see this is like an N1C or N1H board, but how to tell? I don't see any such markings on this thing. I have a Skee-Ball Extreme manual, with N1H board, but there's no schematic for the board itself....just the machine wiring. Someone is selling a manual on ebay but I don't want to spend $$$ on a manual that isn't correct.

I don't know of a schematic for either board. All the manuals likely only have the wiring diagram in them. If you're on facebook, look up Matt Evinger, he is a former engineer at skeeball and has a lot of files that can't be found elsewhere.

I PM'ed him! Let's see.....

that's the later gen of the lightning board. the first version that used that shape didn't have a all the relays on the end of it.

Lighting had 3 versions of the PCB
1-Model S Lightniing
2-N1C (limited run) This is what you have pictured
3-N1E
As a side note, that is my initials on that repair tag from almost 23 years ago! I worked at Skeeball for a few years!

Do you still repair skee ball boards by any chance?

No I don't at the moment. I did offer services a while back, but my full time job keeps me busy. Hopefully I'll start again sometime soon, as I still have a testbench and parts.

This is so cool! That's quite a repair! I'm a field service technician, I'd love for my repairs to last 23 years! Questions: How does one identify the proper manual, and do you have one? These things have revision numbers through at least K. How does one tell the N1C and N1E apart? Who is alleyrepair?
Interesting seeing your initials on something, eh? This unit is in Tampa.

I purchased a copy of Skee-Ball Lightning's Manual Rev K, which pictures the newer N1C board and wiring. It's 30MB so I can't post it here, but if anyone needs one PM me.
