My chassis in being repaired and the tech is saying that I need to replace a capacitor on the pincushion board in the C21 location. I have a 2700 chassis and have identified the capacitor in the same location as a 123J PM1.6KV.

Is this the same type as the 2701? I would like to know if I can pull the capacitor from the 2700 and install it on the 2701 board.

I don't have access to the service guy till monday to find out what is stamped on the bad capacitor that is currently installed on the 2701 pincussion board.

I don't know if there is a difference between the two, 2700 is a low resolution tube and 2701 is a med resolution tube. The service manual shows 1.6KV(.0062 uf) in the C20 location, but does not indicate what the C21 is.

I need help to identify the capacitor and a location to purchase a replacement C21.

The pics shown are from my 2700 pincussion board.

Is that the cap on the 2701 or 2700 board or both?

Thanks,
Johnny

That, I don't know. I thought you needed to know what value/size 123J PM1.6KV was.

Why doesn't the repair guy replace it with the same size/value as the bad one he is removing?

Or at least tell you the value on it if they expect you to purchase the new one.

Weird.... the schematic shows the location but no value.
But since this schematic is listed for all version (2700,2701,2702) I would assume they were the same.
