1st game was an early/mid 90's side scrolling shooter. You're in a vehicle that parachutes onto the level. Like Metal slug but 3d-ish. 1st level IIRC a desert. 2nd level a bridge. If you finished the game you started at the beginning and if you finished a 2nd time the game was over. That's all I have to go on.

2nd game was a early/mid 90's game for up to seven/eight people. It cost a few dollars. You had to enter a large enclosure built for the game. IIRC there were three rear projection screensside by side to form the display. The gameplay was the same everytime(on a rail). It was basically the 7 of you attacking waves of spacefighters until you came to the capital ship which you had to destroy. Never got to the end though.

Galaxian 3?

Wow that was fast! That's it. I never would've gotten it on my own.

modessitt is usually always the first one to answer these and it seems like he's right every time. I'd want him on my team if this were a team competition.

Except for the date (1987), sounds like Guerrilla War:

Nah, the player was a car with different weapons depending on the power ups. Itwas side scrolling with a 3d aspect. Bottom of the screen was closer to the player. The only distinctive feature I remember was that when you died a new car would parachute in. And the theme song when you started a new level which I can't post.

First game sounds like TOP GUNNER (USA) [a.k.a. Jackal].

Second has to be Galaxian 3, as said.
I remember lucking into a good group one day (5 players)
and we cooperated to finish the game and get the "good" ending.

You don't parachute in. But your weapons and items do. They slowly float down the screen, you usually have to jump to grab them. The first level is the Mountains, and yes the second level is the bridge. After you finish the game the first time your allowed to select the starting level the 2nd time around.
BTW I have a Break Thru jamma kit if anyone is interested, includes a NOS CPO and NOS Side art.

'cause he's on this site 24/7.

I know it seems like that sometimes, but not really. there are a lot of people here more than me - just check the political section.

Like today - checked it when I got home tonight about 4:30pm (first time all day) and was on for an hour or so - then left to get my wife from work - was back on for another hour - then ate a late dinner with the wife - and now back again....

Man I hate it when I know what the answer to the game question is and get there too late because somebody else beat me to it. I guess I need to sit in front of the computer more and try to be the shell answer man. It is Break Thru. One of the first games I owned. Kind of lame. Got it in a converted Joust cabinet.
