Help Identifying a cocktail cabinet - Ms. Pac now

Hi, I just picked up my first cocktail cabinet and was told it was a dead galaga. I got it home and found a blown fuse and a broken wire. Changed the fuse and fixed the wire and it fired up with R-Type in it. Before I decide what I am going to do with this I wanted to find out what it originally was. Overall the cabinet is in great shape with the exception of the coin door.

Any help would be appreciated.

did midway make game specific cocktail cabs?

if it a midway like i think it is,looks like midway from door design and the general shape then you might have choice of different games.

galaxian would be my stab, could be a galaga, galaga is midway game?
:)

Looks home brew to me, with Midway parts attached.

I think you may be right. There are a couple of things that dont match. The coin door being so low that a coin bucket will not fit under it for example. It has Midway speaker grills but they are not located anywhere near where Midway put them.

That is good if it is just a homebrew cabinet as I won't feel bad putting a 60-1 in it. It looks like I can change the mounting direction for the monitor. I will have to play with it and see if it will work. If not, maybe I will turn it into a Contra or something. The price was right so no matter what I do with it, it will be worth it.

How do you open it up? Does the top hinge open, or does one of the sides hinge down with the top conntected? Though looking again I am 98% sure it is home brew.

The top hinges open and there is a bolt above the coin door that it latches onto. You can see the outside of the bolt on the picture.

The game itself is mounted to side panel where my son is standing and it hinges down and lies flat on the ground.

I am going to have to do something horizontal in it since I don't want to buy new glass for it. Maybe I could do the 173 in 1 and just hide the 6 button fighting games. Maybe I am better off to just MAME it.

What would you guys do?

Ah! That's better. Here is what it looks like now. Rotated the monitor (need to replace due to terrible burn still), New glass, New bezel, new Ms. Pac underlay, bondo'd and black covered the CP's and then added the custom made Ms. Pac CPO's.
