Hi All!

Most of my arcade machines use this type of coin door lamp socket. Ive spent days/hrs, many different word/name combinations on google trying to find an exact replacement of this type with no success. It is black, and has the push in style bulbs (wedge?), not the push and turn types. It has the 2 wires that run to the back, and more importantly has the slide on clip that slides onto the top of the coin mech as shown in the pic. Your I.D. knowledge and where I can purchase these will greatly help. Thanks Again!!

Thanks Ken & Russ.
Ken, there was no pic for that item description. Is that the exact one, or is it something comparable like the white "cubed" looking socket they sell? Is it meant only for a specific voltage? Is that socket called a bayonet style socket?

Russ, you raised a good question in my head regarding voltages. Are you saying that style socket is not universal in all cabinets? Im now guessing I need to read my schematics to see if I can even use those sockets in my new game conversion. Good thing I never hooked it up yet or I may cause a problem!
Thanks

Well, the coin door lamps are either the wedge type or the bayonet type (you push in and twist to lock).

Both socket types have lamps that are made for the two common voltages in coin door wiring: 5 volts or 12 volts.

So you just have to meter the socket and see how much voltage is there and put in the right bulb. Or just look on the bulbs you have - the wedge type will have either 555 or 161 printed on the bulb somewhere (usually).

Same thing with the bulbs under light-up buttons or track-balls.

Yes it is the exact socket as original just like what you have on your door now (black).

It is a "wedge" socket made for wedge base lamps.
