Help identify a component on my Battletoads

Yes, Lx implies an inductor.
Probably these -> (now obsolete; though other site or similar parts can be used ... LOL)

Well it turns out these are hard to find. Only a couple places I found oversees and they want you to buy in bulk. I only need two of these. Does someone have a couple laying around? Or a Dead Battletoads PCB? Or if someone knows a good equivalent. Im new to these components.

Disregard I found some. Ill still take a dead board if anybody has one.

if it is just to "get the board going" ? just jump them out for now
the board will be fine.
they are there to act as "snubbers".
what that means along with the small bypass caps in there they roll of the upper freq's.
u may get some weavie or small chops in the sound.? nothing to fret about
well testing the board.

Well I ruled out the inductor as the issue. I might have an issue with one of the audio amplifiers. Would an audio amp cause a board to not boot?

For sure not unless the amplifier is shorted (so causing a short across +12V and GND) so the PSU is tripped or goes in protection.
If the board doesn't boot you must focus on main CPU, this the 'heart' of the whole system.

Keep in mind that if you measure an inductor with your multimeter in DC range you will read a dead short! They carry out their function when AC flows in them.

subscribed. Curious to see if you get it figured out. I'm afraid that its one of the custom SMD's.

I just picked up a working one ($300 plus shipping ouch). Should be in soon and can compare to see what is faulty with the board. Ill keep you posted.

I'm wondering if these have a time bomb on them like the CPS2 games. If I recall correctly there is a battery on the PCB. Could be there for more than just saving operator adjustments.

Now that I think about it I should have compared the ROMs on your board to the MAME archive. Perhaps the MAME ROMs are decrypted bypassing whatever might have failed because of a bad battery.

Maybe...

I was thinking the same thing and checked the battery when I first received the board. The battery was at 3.6v. Im going to double check to make sure.

I checked it too. Doesnt mean that it wasnt swapped out before you got the board though.

Makes you wonder.
