i am trying to build a mini arcade game. how do i hook up an lcd screen (from a portable dvd player)that only has the video out to accept a video in. i figured out how to do it for a red green blue but i want to use a yellow composite video and i cant convert it to red green blue. any thoughts???

Sounds like a Dragon's Lair, maybe? :)

Generally going from combined signal (composite) to RGB (component) is a bad idea. You would have to use electronics to separate the signals, which would then be noisy, lossy, and generally look bad. The devices that do this (with any quality) are prohibitively expensive.

You are much better off getting a better quality DVD player that has digital output and an LCD with digital input (DVI).

If you want to do it on the cheap, look for an LCD with TV inputs (S-Video or Composite).
Try ebay.

Good Luck!

i found a way to hack into the dvd lcd to hook up a plug and play unit to it. the lcd screen will only accept the red blue green. if i could find an lcd screen that had video inputs then i would be money. i am trying to use a smaller 5 or 7 inch screen to build a mini arcade game. its hard to find a small lcd to scavage for this.
