There are two slam switches in that game that must be CLOSED, otherwise
the game won't start up. These switches are in series. One is located
on the coin door (right under the lock I think). Check it to make sure
it is closed and that the wires are firmly attached.
The other slam switch is in the rolling-tilt ball cage on left wall
inside main cabinet. This one should be closed too and have good wire
connections. When the ball rolls up the cage (toward the back of the
machine), then it should actuate this switch and OPEN the circuit, which
will reboot the machine.
Check both switches to make sure they're closed.
Additionally, check the switch matrix connector coming off the MPU board
in the back (A1J6 I think?) It must be connected securely and connector
pins inside it must be very clean and making good contact with the
board, otherwise this can be the source of the two slam switches not
being "seen" as closed by the MPU, and the game won't start up.
Also another common cause of
the displays showing "000000"'s is if the coin lockout wire (used to prevent
coins from going into cashbox if a problem exists) is probably jammed into the
coin switch blades. This is a common occurance when folks have their game on
money play and then try to trip the coin switch with their fingers. The correct
way to manually activate the coin switch by your finger on a Gottlieb pinball is
to push up on the triangular bit of wire that is very close to the front of the
coin holder, on the bottom-this pushes the coin trip wire down and gives you
your credits. There is a triangular manual push point on all coin units in the
Gottleib pins that used the bladed coin switch assemblies.
