Hello everyone, i am a Video Game collector mainly for the NES system, however I am now getting into the Arcade games, mainly for fun playing time. I was offered a Golden Tee Fore! system that is said to work fine, and in good condition (just needs a good cleaning). My Questions are:
---- What are the main things to look for when purchasing a new Video Arcade(particularly the golden tee Fore!)
and what is the price i should pay for one of these machines?

the gold tee fore does not have a year on the sign, through what little i have found on this it seems to be the initial Golden Tee Fore! from 2000 (if Im wrong please please correct me) its in a all black cabinet

Im new to this all and want to make smart buys, all info is welcome!

Sounds like its not in the dedicated cabinet or it would have white sides halfway on top. Be sure to check everything works in game including the track ball. Also check the monitor picture. If any faint lines like jail bars or the picture looks off then it might need to be rebuilt. Also since it might not be dedicated you should ask if its std. Res because its supposed to be a medium resolution.

Urk. Definitely a conversion. And you might have all kinds of fun smashing your knuckles into the monitor plexi :) Dedicated golf games have much deeper control panels to allow plenty of room to spin the trackball.

Assuming it works and the cabinet is solid, $200 or thereabouts. Definitely don't spend more than $300.

Thanks Guys, He wants 200$ i told him 100$ and he went down to 150$... i cant thank you enough, being new at all this i dont want to be taken for a ride... maybe if i get him down a little more to 100.00 ill bite just to have my first "arcade game" and my son would be happy; but idk as a collector of video games i prefer originals

Been there done that, if you have ever played one in a dedicated cab you would run away from that one, I had one in a Midway MK cab, plenty or room to swing on the CP, I sold it though to buy a dedicated one, much happier now.

It'll make you happy for a lil while till you see what your missing and the prices are very good on them right now. YMMV.....:)

Honestly, I think $150 is fine - think of it this way, it's a complete, working game with a good monitor. And it's Golden Tee Fore, which is a good game. It's JAMMA, so you can swap in just about any other golf or bowling game board easily. And, you can easily convert that control panel back to joysticks and buttons for other kinds of games. For $150, go for it (provided you like video golf). The only reason I said $200 was probably fair is because a working 25" monitor is probably worth a hundred bucks, and the Golden Tee Fore series game boards are worth something too.

This all assumes the cabinet is good and solid, and not coming apart.
