I am in need of PCB repair services to try to correct some issues with my Namco Tekken Tag Tournament PCB.

-When you first plug in the PCB and power it up it goes into a repeat loop of the first booting screen.

-After a few minutes it will start playing the into movie but is extremely glitchy. Hitting any buttons will cause it to restart the into sequence.

-After a few minutes of that and letting it complete the intro sequence you can finally insert some coins and select your character. Once the first start there are some graphics glitches and artifacting on the screen that is pretty random and mostly with the background.

-Player 2 down switch does not work. To verify this I tried swapping out to some other PCBs and it worked just fine. I tried cleaning it with an eraser and that did not correct it.

I am willing to mail it out and pay for services. Either post here or PM me please.

sounds like it isn't getting enough power to run correctly

I would start by busting out your trusty multimeter and start checking the voltages coming out of the power supply specifically the +5volts and repost back what it is at
DO NOT adjust the +5volts without a multimeter connected

OK I will do that when I get home. However I have tried my other Namco System 11 and 12 PCBs and they seem to work fine. Would this affect the down switch not working also?

it's Japanese. unless your power supply is completely bottomed out on the voltage adjustment or your JAMMA edge is plastered in cow doodoo, I strongly doubt it's the power supply.

the input chips crap out on these a lot. I have a Tekken Tag doing the same thing that I never fixed, I don't even know the part number. if I recall the inputs are surface mount. there's a number of surface mount parts, if you popped a leg or several on those who knows.

Yeah I'm thinking it's more than the power supply also, but still I am going to give it a try. I can hope right?

I got a feeling Im still going to need to get the PCB worked on. I work hate to buy another board unless someone has one for the price of what it's going to cost to get this one fixed.

JAMMA edge is clean. Board is in good shape aside from a couple small scratches. I have not really messed with the PSU yet.

Well... I finally had a chance to take a meter and check the +5 volts DC and it was not exactly low but it was fluctuating like crazy and dropping way low. So I adjusted it up a tiny bit to where the bottom of the fluctuating range was not so low. I then rebooted the machine and .... BAM .. all the cut scene and graphic issues are gone! How ever I am still having issues with player 2 down switch not working.

I again cleaned the board edge with an eraser, checked the wiring, joystick, e switch... Still can't duck on player 2. I tried 5 other Namco System 11/12 boards and they worked fine.

Any ideas for fixing this?

**Edit** I am buying a new arcade power supply for now until I buy my two fully modular power supplies for the final phase of the build.
