I have an original Black Knight.

I have 2 issues with it right now.

1) the first one is with the upper PF right flipper. It originally was very weak so I bought a rebuild kit and applied all of the parts. Now it's intermittent. It's almost like it needs to build up a charge or something of the sort. It works fine when it works but you can't count on it. It'll flip like 1/5 times... but more often will flip if you don't use it for a few seconds. If you keep on flipping fast, it won't flip. This problem recently showed up after very little use once I rebuilt all of the flippers.

2) sometimes when I get a ball into the upper "multi ball catch" don't know if that's the right name. I looses count or does not detect that the ball got caught so it doesn't release another ball at the plunger. I wonder if it's a sensor up there or a switch I can adjust. This problem has been with the machine since I bought it but it doesn't always come up. I originally thought that it was missing a ball.

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. It's my first pinball so I'm totally a NOOB.
I have a house party this weekend and i'd like to fix at least the flipper.

Thanks in advance

First, check the switches on the flippr buttons, they are important to the circuit and if dirty , pitted or both it can cause intermittance...also, if you have replaced EOS switches on all of the flippers themselves, I would look to those switches to the buttons, or you may see if the coil sleeve is dirty or clogging, or worse, mushrooming on the plunger, the start of this can cause those symptoms..

the other issue you have is likely a dirty or misaligned switch, take a business card and clean the contacts, then adjust the switch gap so when a ball sits in there, it can be "seen":..

OK, fixed... I thought that the flipper switch was fine cause the lower flipper worked good. Little did I know that it was a 2 stage switch to hit the upper flipper. I had swapped the button and there was an adjustment that went off. I smacked my forehead for that mistake.

I fixed the leaf switches with crazy fine grit sand paper. There were two that did not register balls in the multi-ball catch.

These two issues are no knocked out. I have more small things not working like lights but I can get to them in time.
