Starwars cockpit...hacked cabinet.

I have a donor UR lined UP. but what are the chances of getting art work? and at what expense?

Art painted over

no boards

No Yoke

no ampliphone

Its a heart breaker... but I've always wanted a SWC.

So do I buy this sub nightmare or pass? Opinions advice?

Well - ask yourself this - are you willing to pay for one in the shape you want? What is the cost of the beat up one?

Me, I'd do it. Get it, then trade up if you can find one in better shape. But, if you are rich enough to afford one in perfect shape, then pass.

Art - ThisOldGame will be selling it, it's in the works from what he's said

Boards - donor game, if you think it's worth it.

Yoke/Amp monitor - I bought a project w/o monitor. Do what I plan to do and a few others have done. Build the 25" Amp from the parts. I got a slightly hacked deflection board to rebuild, kinda cheap since the harness was cut. Still haven't got an HV board, but they're actually getting reproduced. I got a 25" tube from Hawkeye, but it would be possible to find the right style tube in a thrift store TV, just not sure how many tries it would take. The yoke is the same as the 6100 yoke. Those do pop up.

What I wonder about the project cabinet you're talking about - what about everything else? Any swelling? Anything structural messed up? Is the backglass/marquee there and in good enough shape?

Buy it, if the price is right. I picked up 2 of them that where converted to Hydra's. I payed $60.00 for one and $150.00 for the other. It has been a great experience getting them back to original. But i am still not done. LOL..It does take time, so do not go in to it thinking that it will be done in a few months. For mine i am going to use a nice older 25 inch med. res. with the 6100 yoke. I was up at This Old Games shop about a month ago and Rich said he is getting closer to getting the art work done. I even went as far as re-doing the cardboard that goes around the monitor,as they are always torn. Have fun and take your time.

No Yoke (the controller), no way. If there's a rebuildable Yoke, I'll take it and (dedicated) mame it back to life.

From a thrift store? Can regular TV tubes be used in vector monitors? If so that's cool, I'll have to take a crack at building one.

Well the Quantum 19" tube is std res and crosses to some tubes that could be found in a TV, I think I read that. Same with the 25" Amp tube. It's not a tube that was only used in that game, there are several #s that cross reference to it, and they were used in TVs. RAULAND A63AAXOOX is one.
