I've been having trouble connecting my Electrohome G07 to the Dragon's Lair NTSC conversion card.

I've been able to figure out the six-pin video connector, but there's one additional red wire, I'm not sure where it connects to the G07 board (see photo).

Anyone out there with a working Dragon's Lair (Space Ace conversion) with a G07 that can take a photo or describe where on the monitor board the red wire connects.

Thanks!
Pete

That red wire is the 16 volts DC to power the NTSC board. I have read from the DLP archives that on the G-07 chassis, NTSC positive power comes from W403 jumper on your chassis. I don't know if this is accurate so take a DC volt meter and test that point for 16 volts DC. I have my Electrohome NTSC board powered from a Radio Shack 15 volt wall transformer because I am using a Wells Gardner 19 " monitor and it only has 12 volts to tap into which was to low for the NTSC board. I would say anywhere on the monitor you can get 15 to 18 volts DC from will work just fine.
:)

BTW - I've got a couple extra Wells Gardner NTSC conversion cards (the square ones) if you'd rather have one that works with your monitor.

Thanks but I also have the WG NTSC card but it only works with the older WG monitors and I am using a slightly newer monitor. Their's ways to make them work but their a PITA. The Electrohome works with almost any monitor.

Thanks for that info - I am in the mist of restoring my cabinet, and while I am not to this point yet, this is something to remember for when I do get there...

(oh, so much to learn...)

I have a G07 in my DL and the red wire is exactly where yours is in the picture.

Okay - so it took a little while before I was able to test this, but it works!! My colors suck, but I've got a picture.

I added an alligator clip on to the red power wire and clipped it onto the w403 jumper and it did the trick.

Thanks!!
Pete
