Help Clean up the KLOV / IAM database - Pending Submissions

I submitted the G-Net based Space Invaders Anniversary several years ago and it still hasn't been added to the list. It is NOT the same as the US version that came packaged with Qix.

Well, I did it, voted on ALL of the entries.
Anything more?
I'm out of things to click on...

Ok... I think the system was filtering so it only showed videogames at the moment. I think I need to open it up (either for you or for everyone) so you can vote on more of the records. I'll work on that tonight.

Either the submission got junked/rejected for some reason, or it is still in queue. Please feel free to help vote on the submissions to help us get through the queue!

Ok.. I turned on Pinball and EM/Arcade. It makes the description submission index page slower to load (since you are so far ahead of the crowd it loads a lot since there are a lot of unfinished auctions...), but that is all good.

Take a look at my other post about a small prize...

this process might be a bit easier to run through if each submission had radio buttons next to it for each choice and a then have a master SUBMIT button at the bottom of the page to click on once one vote for each submission have been selected. The way it is now, it takes forever to go through these as the page has to reload after each vote and some games have multiple submissions meaning that the page has to be reloaded for each vote..

When will we be able to submit entries to the db? I notice that the feature was shut off in September, any news on when this will be ready to go?

Any news on this? I've run across various errors in the EM stuff that I have on my want list as well as a missing one that i currently own.

'Vote on Text Additions to Existing Records' - any way to filter?

I just spent some time going through the text additions section, and at the moment the biggest problem I see is that there's no easy way to see which ones I've voted on, and which ones I haven't. I can understand keeping the items available for vote change, but frankly I'd have a lot easier time getting through this if the games I've already voted on would disappear from the list that I see.

Database Cleanup

I am getting the following message for all of the links when I tried:

No new games to publish.

You might as well close this window.

IP addresses and other data logged.

Please feel free to log onto the web site www.arcade-museum.com,

Then go to any of the VAPS stats pages:
http://www.arcade-museum.com/members/statistics/top-voters.php
(um...it might not work for non-VAPS members)

If logged in you will see two extra choices:
1) Vote on Database Submissions
2) See report on Voters.

Please take a look at both and let me know what you think... There are a lot of pending submissions. Right now there are a bunch of spam entries in there too.. about 1800 of them I would guess out of 2600 pending new records submissions. Please help identify and vote them as 'spam' if they are. 4 votes and the submission is automatically gone.

The spam is pretty easy to spot so its a quick and easy way to get up on the Top Voters list.

It's just another step closer to getting the site fully in shape...

Greg

BTW - I submitted some corrected info recently for a game, and have other corrected info for another that I plan to submit. Any word on when corrected info, additional info, new submitted photos, or new game entries will be accepted (and actually updated)?

Well, there's a huge queue of stuff that still hasn't been voted on (go to http://www.arcade-museum.com/members/dr_main.php to vote on stuff). I imagine that things get dealt with when enough votes put them into the right queue, but as long as they are just sitting there waiting for votes, nothing happens.

Get everyone to get in there and vote on the text submissions, and perhaps we can get your edits moving along.

I've been working my way through the list for some weeks now, and there's obvious spam that I marked 2-3 weeks ago that's still showing up. So obviously we don't have a lot of people really going through. Don't just go through the games you know well, go through ALL of them (heck, just pick a few at random). It's pretty easy to spot spam even on games you don't know yourself.

I was checking to see when I would be able to submit info for a game that is not listed on KLOV. I got this msg, "The new game entry submission is offline while we continue to process pending submissions and change some aspects of our submission form.
It is estimated this page will return online in about 2 weeks."
I didn't know if that was current info or if it hasnt been updated in years. Sorry I havent followed Klov long enough to know.

Quick, helpful fix to the text additions voting page

Right now, the one thing that would really help the text addition voting pages would be if they sorted the things I haven't voted on to the top of the page. That would really make it much quicker to go through them and find the things still to be done.

Holy crap! I just thought "how bad can it be, I'll go help out". Wow! I just spent some time and feel like I accomplished nothing! I'm almost speechless.

Yea. If we can get it cleaned once, it will be easier to maintain in the future, but right now it's an unholy mess, partly because there's not enough work going on for stuff to actually pass through and get incorporated.

You know, it may be faster to remove the spam if you just opened the database in access or something and sorted the comments...then quickly delete the ones that are obviously spam

Any update on when a person can submit a new game entry on klov database?

The "view game" link appears to be broken. Fixing this would make voting go much faster.

What would also help is if my list of things only included those things that I haven't voted on yet. I've voted on most of the things on that list, so to find new stuff to vote on takes forever.
