I just got a 60 in 1 from Nick,
Today I moved my Big Century vert jamma cabinet back into the game room. I have Namco Classic Collection Vol.2 installed in the game. I fired it up and everything was working good so I pulled the game board out and put the 60 in 1 in and wile it works I have no sound. My cabinet doesn't have a test or service switch so I put jumper 4 in the on position and went into set up and volume was set at 50% so I turned it up to 100% but I don't know If I was saving it right. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or is it possible I got one with bad sound?:(
Thanks.

1) Check the harness to make sure the speaker wires for your cabinet are coming off pins 10 and L.

2) Make sure the sound is not being routed through an amplifier somewhere. If so, bypass it.

3) Make sure the sound is not being routed through an external volume control.

4) Check to make sure the wiring to the speaker is connected.

5) If all else checks out, there is an orange volume pot on the game pcb that might be turned down...

I'll check out what you have listed but unless this board is wired up some weird way their should not be a problem with the cabinet. I just pulled Namco Classics out of it and I have had other Jamma games in it with out issues. I am pretty sure the cabinet has a inline sound Amp with a volume control but it's been a few years sense I have had my head stuck in it as it's never gave me any problems. You would think all Jamma games would be plug and play.

Some games have onboard amplification and some don't. If you have an amplifier in the cab with a volume control, bypass it...

As Mod said, make sure the orange volume pot on the 60 in 1 is turned up.

If you still don't get any sound and you think your cab is alright. Then temporarily hook up some powered speakers(must be powered) to the 1/8 inch jack next to the VGA out and see if you get any sound out of it. If you don't you may have other problems with your 60 in 1 board.

funny that the orange knob wouldn't be turned up.

they are normally louder than a rock concert.

Well all I have done so far is make sure my jamma harness had the wires in the harness at 10 & L which it did. I dont see how having a audio amp between the board and speaker would keep the sound from working, It might be loud as hell or garbled but I should hear something but not a pop or hiss out the speakers. I did turn the pot on the board both up and down and in the middle with no change.I have a cabinet wired up for Capcom Bolwing which is Jamma so tomorrow I'll try it in that cabinet. If I still get no sound I think I have a set of computer speakers I can hook up to the jack on the board to see if any sound comes out of that. Just makes me mad as I could not get this game working in time for my Christmas eve party.:(

The amplifier is meant to take a low signal and amplify it to normal levels. If the board already amplifies it, putting it through another amplifier might damage or overload the 2nd amplifier so that it doesn't pass through the sound anymore. I would try a quick jumper of the speaker output from the 2nd amplifer directly to the speaker before moving any further...

I now have sound, yeaaaaa
Turns out it was as simple as unplugging one wire and plugging another one in.
My Jamma cabinet has a built in audio amp board with a volume control. On the input side, wires coming from the Jamma harness ,it has a ground and input pin and an extra wire with a plug. So it looks like their are 2 different input wires for the sound, one orange and one brown which come from different pins on the Jamma connector. All I had to do was unplug the orange wire and plug in the brown wire and I now have sound. This is the first time I have ever had to change the wires for the sound but their has to be other games set up different for them to have added an easy plug in solution to swap sound inputs. So if anyone else ever has a 60 in 1 with no sound you may have to rewire the sound input wire. I included a picture of my sound amp board. This experience has taught me a few things. You can have an audio amp between the 60 in 1 and the speakers. The pot on the board dose adjust the volume and I have it turned down on the low side. I tried adjusting the volume electronically but every time I adjust it, it just sets it self back to 50% so I left it their and adjusted the volume with the volume control on my amp in the cabinet. The sound for the most part sounds good. Even Gyruss doesn't sound to bad. I still have one thing to try to get working if I can. Dose any one know if the 60 in 1 high score save works. I flipped the dip switch on the board but it's not saving high scores. So far for the price of the board it's not a bad deal.:D
Here's a video of Gyruss so you can hear the sound.

The 60-in-1 will not save high scores for every game, and typically saves just the highest score only for the others, but not the initials. This has been an issue since the first version of this board, and has never been addressed by the manufacturers...
