Hello!

The Atari Lynx was incredible. It was 30 years ahead of it's time. It was the Nintendo Switch before the Nintendo Switch.

If anyone at Atari knew what they were doing, they would have dumped everything they were working on at the time, and poured every ounce of resources they had left in the company into the Lynx.

I can only imagine where Atari and Lynx would have been today if they had not abandoned the platform.

The Lynx was pretty bad ass. I had the Express and my buddy had the Lynx. The screen a size platform on the Lynx was so much better. You are correct, it was the Switch of the time. Atari was in a downward spiral with no recovery in sight. Then came the Jaguar! DOH. The end.

That was right in the time where I completely abandoned the console and handhelds for full blown PC life. Wolf 3D, Doom, Quake, then I never left my computer when Quake II came out.

Welcome! Are you running Athena alongside Mappy in your first picture? I have the Athena board too, always interested to know more about that game.

Thank you!

Athena was running on the Analogue Pocket FPGA, and Mappy on the MiSTer FPGA in the pic. I have a Mappy board that has some burst electrolytic caps, so I should have it up and running soon!

I've been looking for an Athena board, but haven't found one for a good price yet. I love the game! It's quite advanced and adventurous for an Arcade game of the time. I started it up randomly one day, and instantly loved it! I'm not amazing at playing it, but have gotten in fairly far. At least I think so :)

Now I want to play it more, hehehe!
