Hey all, so after seeing videos listening to podcasts playing games in our local arcade I decided I would like to get into this hobby. I originally was strictly in the old consoles before this and decided arcade games would be fun now that I have a place to put them. Sadly games in my area are not bountiful but i managed to find some good deals a few months ago and spent 1000$ (canadian) on some games. Pictures attached.

All of these games run and some look like there in pretty good shape! others not so much.. The playchoice plays blind (have not troubleshot yet) but has 5 games in it and can hear the game selected in the 1 slot is DR Mario.

Now the questions...

The wrestling is obvious not a wrestling under the black paint is silver laminate. Not sure what game this should be (doesn't even look like it should be 4 player) Anyone know?

The drivers all work none are in great shape they are dirty cracked and i am surprised they even play. Are these worth fixing they are fun but I have not been able to find parts for the plastic moldings and such. Any help here on finding parts is greatly appreciated!

The single slot Neo Geo is in bad shape parts of the wood are swollen and some broken and the back is missing and its not even a Neo Geo. I was gonna take the parts and toss the cab but is it worth trying to put in the work to restore the cab and find the right game? (the cabinet is a gravitar, the decals are near mint but the wood within 2 inches of the edge is bad all the way around...water damage)

I was so happy to get a 4 slot neo geo and about 20 cart's (all original in box) everything works got a spare board too cleaned it up and it looks really good. Something seems off though (in the looks) can someone tell me why?

Thanks everyone who has posted on this board I have read a lot and finally finished my signup and wanted to thank all of you as this allowed me to fix monitor issues, board issues and even know where to get parts. I hope to post the pic's of the finished restores when they are done but I figure this is going to take awhile.

Some nice deals there buddy.

Im interested in some carts for my neogeo im piecing together.

Congrats on some sweet cabs, and welcome to the community.

The Wrestfest could have been a number of Konami games like Main Event, Dark Adventure or Blades of Steel (3-4p games). A mfg sticker on the back, if still existing, would solve the mystery.

The 4-slot you have IS weird. It's the less common MVS-4 cabinet that differs from the normal 4-slot dedicated that was in wider (and earlier) release. The MVS-4 is the budget "street" model line that started with the 1 and 2 slot units.

Yaggy, thanks for the info! Ill check the wrestlefest when i get home and as for the Neo Geo its good to know its just a newer cheaper model lol. I like how small it is, it is super easy to work on lol. I assume this means it is "Less desired" but to me it works great.

If you got all that for $1k you got a deal. The Turbo outrun looks in good shape except the plastic panel which can be bought on ebay. Not cheap. The good thing is the steering wheel is centered which might mean the plastic gears aren't broken. You can get replacement set for under $100.

I never liked how high up the speakers were mounted on the ded's anyway, the logo doesn't light up and those card light panels die and add cost and labor to replace, they were also impossible to find years ago. You can tell what game you selected by looking at the screen, nobody looks at the cards, except to see the button labels. So having a more normalized marquee isn't necessarily a bad thing (opinion).

I did notice the street cab comes with really bad stock speakers. I replaced all mine with 20w 8ohm jawns that have better frequency response for like $10ea. (GRS brand, I think? something like that) Mind the wattage since the board only puts out like 8-10w, so a speaker rated for 200w would sound bad. The new speakers added nice depth to the sound and many of the carts have excellent sfx/bgm, so it's worth the trouble. Having a functional headphone jack is also pretty badass, hopefully they weren't vandalized. Easy enough to replace, though.

Welcome to the forums...

You got a good deal for sure. I would return the Neo Geo to it's glory and get a Darksoft Multicart for it...
