First let me say that I love arcade cabinets. I used to play them all the time when I was real little. Recently after listening to some discussion on the giantbombcast about collecting arcade cabinets I decided to look into it. I bought an old crises zone arcade machine for $25 off of cragslist. Now I'm not sure where to start in repairing the thing. Here is a picture http://images.craigslist.org/3G43M23N85Nb5G75Mbcbld0e090b3837d1ae7.jpg The guy said it needs a new gun and electrical work. Where do I start? After looking up things online I am very overwhelmed. Thanks ahead of time for the replies.

Nice find! I know exactly how you feel, don't worry you came to the right place :). I started about 6-8 months ago (I think) with no knowledge of Arcade machines and simply a little bit of electronics tinkering experience and the ability to solder. Now I have 4 cabinets, 2 of which are complete and I just did my first major monitor repair (which had scared me for a while). It comes quicker than you think, just don't expect to understand it all overnight ;). There are a ton of very experienced people on this board that have helped me immensely that I'm sure will chime in where you need it :). So, take a breathe, relax, and enjoy the ride.

Now, for your restore, you just need to find where to start. What happens when you plug it in and turn it on? Any picture or sound?
