What's up party people? My name is Greg.

I grew up in the arcades in the late 80's and early 90's..
I started playing street fighter casually when I lived in North Carolina in the 90's and some of my best memories where at Put Put Golf & Games during that time.

I fell out of video games for a long while (skateboarding/music) and than in 2008 I started to get back into SSF2T.

I found my first cab on craigslist around 2008 (candy cab) and since than I have been hooked. Anyways, would be cool to meet some of you guys. I occasionally peak my head into the local fighting game scene and down for super turbo casuals or whatever.

Peace

Welcome to the forum.
I am not into fighting games but there are a few who are.

Jaunup has arcade parties about once a month but there are no fighting games there.

There was a Captin P auction in Anaheim just yesterday.

I think there a Place in Huntington beach that has a few candy cabs..

Round one might still have some fighting games.

Hey Thank for the resources Alpha-Tron.

I missed the auction yesterday. Voltronbadass (neo-geo forums) told me previously about that. Super Arcade in Walnut is a good place for fighters. I get over there every once in awhile. But seriously thank you for sharing your resources:)

Laughs super arcade is across from msac.
Round one is located in the puente hills mall. It worth checking out.

Jaunup parties can be found by looking on face book..
Search for the last arcade on the planet.

Or send him a pm on this forum.

Enjoy your stay..

Welcome Greg,

Lots of good collectors around SoCal. Post up what you are looking for and we can help you locate it. Enjoy the forum.

Awesome! Definitely seems to be a lot going on around here. I remember calling California when i lived in NC during the early 90's to get Mortal Kombat fatalities codes when new versions of the board were updated:)

I am looking to pick up a Capcom Impress or NAC sometime in the near future. I know they are hard to come by, but if you hear of anything let me know!

Welcome from another OC'er. I was in the arcades from the time I was 7 (1982) up until about 1994. I am into fighting games and classic games, though Street Fighter 2 is my favorite arcade game of all time. I played up to the time they released SSF2 Turbo. I moved away from all of my friends in Los Angeles, and just drifted away from arcade gaming.

I just bought my first Z-back cabinet, and have a Big Blue on the way. I had to own the two cabinets I spent most of my teen years playing on. I plan on keeping it OG with the Big Blue, it will be a Champion Edition and I will put World Warrior and Turbo into my Z-back. I can't wait to get them both fully restored.

Waddup! Big Blues are nice. When I get a bigger place, I definitely will have one on my radar. Street fighter FTW. Where did you find your blue?

I just picked it up today, I didn't want to jinx it...lol. It was converted to a Tekken 3, but I will fix that. It is in great condition. There is a small rear corner piece missing, but I can fix it easily. I plan on taking the vinyl off, patching it up and painting it. This is the cabinet I bought:

Okay so who do you use in SSF2T?

My main three are Ryu, Chun Li, and E. Honda. I am also fairly good with Guile, Blanka, M. Bison and Sagat. Those are my secondary characters. I never got into playing with the new characters introduced in SSF2 and SSF2 Turbo. I was really into SF2 from World Warrior to Hyper Fighting.

What are your favorites?

Sweet. I always thought E. Honda was under appreciated. In my neighborhood I rarely encountered another E.Honda player. My best friend was a Guile, Dhalsim, and Zangief player. Nothing more annoying than a really good Zangief/Dhalsim player...ha ha.

Ryu/Ken most of the time.

Cammy and Dictator for fun.
Honda is still hard battle for me even thought I know that shotos have the game advantage because of zoning.

Haduken!

I play a lot of HD Remix on XBL as well. My gamer tag on xbl: Mad Grab
I get beat most the time but looks like I took this one:) There is some serious competition out there.
